Dan & Bob: Thanks to you and all the unnamed crew!! You folks put on the best event known to muscle cars!

I am always promoting this event by word of mouth and was able to get another enthusiast and his car on the track this year. I have my sights on a couple more for next year!

Frank Remlinger & Crew: Good to see you all again this year! Thanks for keeping us from starving again.

Brian Stefina: "Phew! what a race!" Indeed! Too much Fun! During warm-ups Sat. I showed my pairing ticket to Dave H. and asked him what he thought about that. He replied, "If he figures out how to get that thing shifted, you're in trouble!" Clearly he has some insight to future events.

I'm already looking forward to next year!

    darrenkp Love that Torque!

This was my third year now and I had a great time, even though I was car-less. Was able to check out all the awesome cars and shoot some decent video. :TU:

Special thanks goes out to Frank Remlinger and his wife for again including us in the festivities in the grass. :beer I hope you're not too sore about me hiding your scooter.

Donny, sorry to hear about the dropped valve, but at least you know where the power went. :eek2:

Can't wait til next year, when I'll have my car back better then ever, hopefully much faster too. :3gears:

Oh, BTW Mark, isn't it time for you to change your signature. I seem to remember some car-less schmuck clicking off a 14.52 in your car this year.

    Ditto for me too!

I remember, at some point a number of years ago, I was getting tired of the event. The same cars as the year before, and I wanted to be outside where the action is. A pox upon me for ever thinking that! This one was the best ever! More AMCs than you could shake a stick at, including TWO SC/360 cars. And more Fords than in the past. I didn't think I'd ever see a 427 GT-E racing. So where are all the Boss 429s? We need one of those! And Brian's car was truly a joy to see.

My only lament was not being able to chat with many of the people I usually talk with. For the past few years, I've talked a lot with Mark W. and I barely got a chance. Didn't get to talk much with Dave H. either. And I only exchanged pleasantries with Brian. And Walt. And where was Bob Palma? Running like a chicken without a head sucks - perhaps I should try to go for a Friday once!

I must say that I did enjoy announcing with Scott, even if he hates Fords. I think we can refine the rapport for next year. :) Otherwise, I'm grateful that I can be a part of this greatest of events.

PS> Frank and the little lady: thanks for the sweets!

Dan and Bob :TU: 136 cars with a bunch of regulars unable to attend. 150 should be easy. And I'm doing my part to add one (or two :eek2: ) to the mix. I haven't posted until now because I'm busy with a job search so I can bring the participant count higher.

Diego, great talking to you friday night at the parking lot party and after you were down announcing Sat.

Steve, great talking to you again. The Chevelle is veeeeery nice and I'm sure you're glad you finally brought it out.

Brian, the train is awesome. It was so funny watching one of your runs from the stands. It looked like you were pounding the dash. But no, you were trying to find 2nd gear. And the chief pusher for Team Stefina wasn't needed this year. I did help push Dave H's car like I said I would (even got my first ride in the Ram Rod :TU: ). I even helped Dennis Jensen. Actually fooled him because he thought the car got lighter. No, I was helping push.

Dennis, it was good to see you too. You planning on having the new motor in for next year?

Joe Z, great to finally put a face to the name. And no matter what Brian thinks, I knew what you meant about my clapped out W-31 not being driven as a winter beater. However, I don't think he'll let you forget that.

A lot of first timers this year and several awesome low mileage cars. burgandy torino and a certain green hemi roadrunner come to mind. And seeing the only 2 SC/360 paired against each other was kinda cool.

A little off topic, but Brian, can you give us some history on the unrestored green hemi roadrunner ? Is it the original owner, has it just been parked, was it a race car, etc. ?

Lon, I would have continued to "lap" that thing, had the track not shut down at 4:00. Thanks for smacking me around while I tried to get my 4spd mojo back. That was my first 4spd seat time in almost a year, after watching Danny D. launch my car on both days, I realized that I needed lots of practice. Thanks for indulging me.

John is the second owner. Purchased new and used not as a race car....but rather as primary transportation and to tow a trailer.

While the original owner was working on a teaching degree he and his wife lived in State Parks. They would tow their Airstream from one park to another when the time limit was up.

Later in life (when they owned a house) it spun a rod bearing and was parked, the owner passed away. John knew the owners and the car.......purchased it about 12 years ago.

It still has the reciever hitch remnents on the frame......the hitch had to come off to clean the gas tank.

Back on topic......John says he's hooked :TU: had a blast and plans to have that car back to :3gears:

It really was as good of race as any yet. The front cars were smoking. More new faces. Plenty of fresh never before raced cars and the parking lot feast.

And yes in the middle round I gave my seat up in the SC/360 to my buddy Rich who thrashed endlessly on the car at the race and prior too. But I believe he ran an embarrassing 15.42 not a 14.52. He later worked it down after rounds to a 13.60. I still covered him with the 13.449 and 13.501 in rounds. Rich deserved (earned) the opportunity.

Great seeing everyone again. Sorry Diego that you and I only had a passing moment. You may not get Scott next year though. He has mandated I have the HO there for him to race again. I lost a cam lobe in it this August (I think it has been going since new). Hopefully I can have a full compliment of clynders for him next year.

The shirts were good for a laugh.

How fast was the Hemi runner? I missed his times and was sorry not to have seen more of the car.

Brian thanks for the FMX info.

I will spend the off season getting the SC sorted out and dyno'd. I think some fast times are in her. I think Larry wants a shot at it in the spring.

    Joe Shepard Pure Stock Rocks!

Thnx Bob, Dan, and crew, for another super year! Had a great time. My car went a new best on Saturday, 12.91@108.13 :TU: . With no a/c this year (back to cars original look), we weighed in at 4136lbs, a 74lbs drop from last year. I think I'll leave all that rubber, on those rear quarters, all winter, to remind me off all the fun we had this year. See ya'll next year. Joe X.
