Go with the utility lock out Mikey, and leave the gate OPEN. When the punks are terrorizing the place go out and lock the gate CLOSED with them in it. THEN make the call. Ya see, nowadays utilities are considered civil defense installations and are subject to more than usual security due to terrorists activity aimed at infrastructure. I needed a TWIC to enter my job post 9-11 that I'd been at for 25 years. Maybe theyll go terrorize an airstrip?? Even died in the wool peckerwoods grow up sooner or later...;) ws

Someone suggested barbed wire three feet up. I was a public school teacher for 23 years. One of our students was dirtbiking with his brother on a commonly-used trail. Someone had strung a piece of wire across the trail about three feet up. One brother had the opportunity to see his brother beheaded. Were these kids doing something so awful that it was worth killing one of them for it?

Push came to shove John. They shouldve put up a limbo wire instead; maybe about triple tree height??

Being a utility annuitant, I still get these company guidelines. If Billy-Bob-Bob, and his cousin Jimmy Ray Bob (Odd, Bob last name), passed fourth grade, they should be able to read a no trespassing sign. When they fail the test let the owners of the right of way do what needs doing... ws

    Colleagues,

I am so pleased that more than 100 of you have taken the Workplace Violence Awareness Training offered by Corporate and Information Security Services. Safety is always our top priority, but recently, given incidents of violence in offices and venues around the country and recent reports of assaults and other disruptive behavior near popular tourist hotels and restaurants in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, we are in a period of heightened awareness.

I am hopeful that all of us will take advantage of training opportunities. In the meantime, I wanted to share some important reminders and encourage everyone to be vigilant about our safety practices.

    • Employees should never allow “tailgating,” which occurs when an individual follows another individual without explicit authorization or without using his or her own ID badge or credentials.
      • Always swipe your own badge when entering an access-controlled area.
      • When walking in a group, everyone is required to stop and swipe their ID badge.
      • Don’t hold doors open for others and allow tailgating. (Remember, it’s not impolite to ask someone to badge in.)
    • Please display your ID badge at all times. (Physical Access Control Procedure XX-XX-XXXX).
    • Visitors are required to have escorts at all times. (Visitor Management Procedure XX-XX-XXYYZZ)
    • Employees who have separated from the company and customers are not permitted on company property without proper badging and escort.
    • If you have any concerns that an individual on property may cause a security threat, contact 911 immediately.
If you have any questions, please talk with your leader or call the ABCD @ X-XXX-XXX-YYYY (this number can also be found on the back of your badge). And always remember, if you see something, say something. Thank you for your commitment to our collective safety.

Really, Jim? Why is this result predictable due to agnostic/secular humanists? The agnostics and secular humanists I know have far higher moral standards than many so-called religious people. I don't know why you decided it would be appropriate to make this statement, but I find it highly misguided.

If you think that the portion of the US constitution, as it is being applied now to the “separation of church and state” issues, is ok, then, JW has a valid point.

In a nutshell, the world is heading in a downward direction. The following link is a 1 hour explanation of how it all works out in the end regardless of what ANYONE “thinks”. Enjoy!!

I missed Jim's post. I usually agree with him, but not on the secular/agnostic comment. I believe that a person who does the right thing without expectation of reward or fear of punishment is every bit as good a Human as one who is a believer.

Fair point John. While I appreciate the moral codes associated with many religions (don't steal, don't kill, etc), I personally know many who don't believe/practice any religion but are steadfast in these same morals. You can't really paint any group, whether it be religious or agnostic or whatever, with too broad a brush as there are many in all those groups who follow those ideologies of what most consider "right or wrong", but at the same time there are many from both those spectrums who do not follow those ideologies as well. Though I do feel many current events may indeed point towards a general moral decline in society, there's no steadfast rule regarding is or isn't. Just my 2 cents, and I'll go no further as I don't wade very far into religion/politics/hot button topics on public forums. Seems it never ends well.

With that, Mikey, I hope you find a satisfactory solution that doesn't cross any legal/personal moral lines for yourself.
