I have been hearing negatives about tire shine, tire dressing etc. Some say its bad for the tire and others just say it is a gimmick makes the car look over dressed. Whats your opinion on Tire Shine spray?

I DETEST tire shine or any product of the like especially an interior all sprayed down

I don't use it. Used to use it, but I've just seen too many funky things happening to my tires over the years. Not to mention the mess it makes. Just clean, natural rubber for me now.

I detail cars on the side and use all Adam's products, but actually use Armor All Tire shine in the aerosol cans. Works great on my cars and isn't too shiny in my opinion.

I don't use any shines on the interior. Nothing is worse than greasy interior.

Someone on here a while back suggested using Pledge on the tires.

Works good, brings out a deeper black look, yet not overly shinny like some tire products.

There are plenty of products available that leave the tires nice and black with very little to no shine at all. I just make sure they are scrubbed real clean, then hit them with a little Wolfgang tire dressing. They stay like new, with no buildup. The cheap kind of products available at Walmart, Autozone, etc., build-up over time until you have a brown tire mess. They also sling off and go all over your paint.

I like them nice and black like new tires but I don't like them shiny. I use No Touch on mine. Works great.

I bought Mothers Back to Black Tire Shine but havent used it yet. I really just want the tires ultra deep black, not real glossy.

Been using Armor All protectant on my tires for many years and have never had any problem.
What I do is wash, scrub and dry the rubber real good, apply small amount to rag, apply to tire and then go back and wipe again with dry rag.
Never to shinny and seems to look a little cleaner than not using a protectant.
Nothing on interior but a vacuum and wipe down with damp rag.

Exactly what I do. I detest all other Armor All products but their tire shine.

On the inside I either use Adams Deep Interior or 1Z Deep plastic clearer. No shine, just cleans. Great stuff.

If you are looking for all the good stuff to use on your own cars, check out https://www.detailersdomain.com. Great products their and great customer support.

Do you use regular armor all protectant on your tires or an armor all produt specifically for tires?

I like the stuff on the shelf at Auto-whatever called "No Touch." Leaves a clean semi-matte finish.

I like no touch too, but I spray it on a micro fiber towel and apply on clean tires. Kinda defeats the no touch concept, but the tires look matte black.

Wesley's Bleach White if you have white letters or white walls. Works great. :TU:

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

I use ArmourAll on a rag to 'dust' my interiors. For dry dashboards, I coat them with Vaseline and leave it on for awhile when it's warm. Then I use a clean towel and wipe it down. Seems to help. I have a lot of unused cans of No Touch and other tire sprays. Kind of on the fence about using them. My BFGs turned brown after they had been treated with No Touch several times.

Goo Gone for yellowed whitewalls and letters.

the problem with most tire "shine products" is that the oily ones collect dirt & dust and the water based wash off. I do use Wesley's Bleach White on the letters.
In the old days, guys used brake fluid to shine the tires.

Another part of tire shine is that it's known that dry out tires. On my Cayenne I replace the tired every 2-3 years so it is no big deal, but on the classics you may want to consider that.

Shiney / wet looking tires look like ass IMO . I do like a clean natural looking tire just not stickey wet looking. Picked up some stuff at the All GM show in Ocala last Oct that works well .
