That one Matt shows is what I have too but much nicer because of no rust. Notice how if you rotated Matt's 180 degree it reads correctly but the input for the vacuum hose would not longer be on the side needed for a GS. These boosters must have been originally intended for another GM car that uses a vacuum input on the driver's side. Another explanation is that Delco made a boo boo run and Buick decided to use them upside down anyway until another run was made putting the vacuum input on the correct side.
Everyone up for ck'ing & posting date codes from the little tab on original Delco-Morraine boosters??? Also off what plant/body built car. For a while now, I've been narrowing down what nice boosters I need to keep & restore for impending projects, & which ones I need to have restored & sell/ trade/ offer with disc brake conversions. With a few, the front shells are pitted. The front shells will be swapped, as date code is on the small upper tab which is part of the rear shell. As it was close at hand, just ck'ed the original booster off my brewster green '73 TransAm, & it has has Delco-Morraine right side up. Otherwise same front booster shell as '69 A-body boosters I have. Will post back with all of our booster date codes & whether right side up, or upside down. Some, will not be able to pin down what they came off of, as have processed & parted well over 600 A-bodys & only God knows how many F-bodys & not everything has been tagged uzzled: Feel free & post your ID codes & info, ESP, if you know the booster is original to your car. THANKS, Roger
It looks like mine will not work. The Delco moraine is stamp very light almost undetectable. OPH Code is 308 :TU:
