I make custom motorcycle parts and do powder coating. Right now I am kind of stuck in a rut doing saddle bag guards. I seam to have found a small needed niche in the market. People do not like paying catalog prices for chromed coat hanger. Though right now I am only making them for a few bikes. But can barley keep up with demand. I got an email from one guy who mailed me several times asking questions and not till after he paid he says he needs them tomorrow??? Fat chance thats gonna happen. Seam like people wants parts cheap but also fast. Them two just don't go together. I can do them cheap and slow or gouge them and do it fast. Most are happy with cheap n slow. And I rather make 9 out of 10 people really happy and piss 1 person off. Then have 10 people OK with my work.

Not the best paying work; but, certainly the most rewarding.

I'm a conductor on the railroad. Right now I'm on the extra board (GMOZ knows what that's like). I cover all vacancies due to vacation or illness and I work on any extra job (i.e. worktrains, railtrains or whatever). I'm on call 24/7/365. This year I've averaged 60 hours a week. I put in 77 1/4 last week, but two years ago I was lucky to get 24 hours a week. It's feast or famine with the railroad. Now all I have to do is wait a few more years when enough people retire or die, then I'll get a regular job.

Go to work in a bell, lock out to do the work. I've spent last couple of years mainly in Iran, but with the axis of evil and the Iraqi's playin up recently I have been spending more time at home lookin after our new young fella. I've been through all the gulf wars, two civil wars in Africa, just about every where from Ababaijan to Terra del Faigo. If any of you are thinking about getting into this for a job, I would not reccomend it, I'm looking for something else to get into now as I think my luck is getting a bit thin. The money is good....but who wants to be the richest man in the grave yard!!!
