I own a 70 stage 1.I had a 70 Hemi Cuda. From 0 to 60 it was hookup and the Buick did it better. The Hemi runs VERY well on top end but suffers low end.Overall, the Hemi is just a bad boy car.Not a pleasure to drive,NO handling or breaking. From my perspective the Buick is the best in build quality, power and handling.

I know it is still "advertised for sale" but I thought I had heard that they had finally sold it?

I hear you still have a different, really nice convertible???

When the Stage 1 does well in this competition the secret will be out and everybody will want one. So much for the element of surprise. Oh well, I guess that's the price one must pay for owning such an amazing car.

I am amazed by the tremendous power that these engines generate. I never fails to amaze me how well these engines run.

I will always be a fan of the Buick Stage 1.:TU:

If the Stage 1 wins, it will be called a fluke, at best.

I wish the stage 1 had a chance:( I think I know already which one will win. Im thinking along the lines of the oh so cool 1970 chevelle with 450 HP:rolleyes:

Did you guys see the previous post by Norb? Here is what he said:

"Hi guys. I believe the Buick used in the Dream car Shootout is my old Stage One Convert, I sold it last fall to Bill Ackerland who has ties to Dream car. We ran the car at our local drag when we had it. It ran a 13.61 on a 85 degree and 80 percent humidity night. My understanding is that it took second at the strip and first in the handling. Norb"

I did not say it will be a fluke if the Stage 1 wins.

Hi Guys, My understanding is that the Boss 429 won the drag race segment. Now thats a surprise. I,ll bet not one of you would have guessed that. With the Stage convert, one had to know how to launch the car or all it would do is spin the tires. That car ran an honest 13.61 when I had it. It will be interesting to see what it ran in the shootout. Norb
