Ok, the day started out with a dead battery for the internal gauge in my gun. I used my spot gun to set the pressure at the compressor for the cap pressure. I blew it off, prep soled it and tacked it off. I put a medium first coat on and it came out great.

The second coat seemed to be a little dry and was trying to orange peel. Maybe the cap on the pot was a little plugged. My solution was to crank up the volume and go with a heavier coat. That worked well, but there are two runs to deal with now.

I have to do the other sides of the bed sides anyway. So, now I have a little touch up to do as well. All in all I am pretty happy with the result.

Nice, I wonder how much painting have you done before?

I had two friends in high school and later that worked in a body shop. They helped me repair and paint several cars back then. Then 20 years or longer ago, I bought a nice HVLP second hand and had it serviced. I painted a 65 GS in hardened enamel and some BC/CC panels every once in a while. A lot has changed in paints and paint technology since then. I am just not up to date with what to do once the body work is done.

Congrats! That's a neat truck, what the heck are you going to use it for?

Now get to work on that dusty 66 GS sitting in the barn!

These are 4WD with a high and low range. They are very useful around the property and to plow snow. This one will be for sale, but my other one handled 14” of snow twice this winter.

I became an importer to bring one here as UTV prices are insane. Plus it has heat, AC and is road legal. Now my forth one will arrive in Baltimore in about a month!
