75 buick lesabre w /no reverse paid $20 dollars for it drove and pushed this tank for a year and then sold it to a friend for a case of beer .
Nice picture of a picture Josh! Here's my '68 Barracuda, yes it has a '67 front end due to a little old lady running a stop sign (notice the parts car in the background)! Ah the memories (all good)!. The Ford truck in the background is an accomplished dirt road fish-tail professional, 240 ci and 3 on the tree. First motor dad and I re-built.
My first was my 67 Skylark 300 2V Paid $400 for it 1989. I know I have pictures of what it looked like, but I can't find them at the moment. However...I do have a pic of what it looks like right now. :beer
Does that black hole have a HEMI??  (Has anyone else heard that commercial on the radio?)
heh.... It was an ad for the new Dodge Ram HEMI. The professor was talking about how the black hole was the most powerful force in the universe... Then some slackjaw in the back blurts out: "Hey teach, does that thing have a HEMI??" uh...yeah. You just have to hear it:gt:
LOL. I've seen the TV ads (the truck-n-trailer hemi commercial), but never heard the radio version. ...I forgot I was supposed to list my favorite cars in this thread too... Hmm..let me think about it.... (see sig) :gt: But if I had to choose another, and it couldn't be a 67 Skylark or GS, I guess I could pick a few: 67 Chevelle, 67 442, 67 GTO (in no particular preference) I just really like the 67 GM A-body style. If it couldn't be a 67 GM A body, I'd go for a 67 Vette, or 67 Mustang Fastback. Geeze..if it couldn't even be a 67, I guess I'd have to get all weird and settle for a Superbird, or a Viper! (any year/color will do please) :gt:
First car was a 1968 Dodge van....when vans were cool and the in thing.....sold it to two ladies of the night when I finished with it in 1979, and bought a brand new Buick Regal.......that's when it started.
my first car See the avatar pic. My 65 Skylark. First and only car so far. Hopefully Ill have this car forever.
My 1st car was a pair of 72 Dodge Darts. My Aunt Helen had a REAL nice 70 Chevy Impala that she was afraid of ... so she went out and bought a plain jane 4 door 72 Dodge Dart, and told me I could have the Impala when I turned 16. Well after sinking much time and all the money I could make working part time into it, I had the Impala fixed up pretty nice . So nice in fact that my cousin Joey decided to sneak it out one night ... he totaled it :af: . When I turned 16 my Aunt gave me her Dart . But what she or anybody else in the family didnt know at the time was my older brother had a surprise cooked up for my birthday too. He felt bad about the Impala getting totaled and decided to do something for me for my birthday. There had been a 72 Dart Swinger for sale down the street from us for about 6 months , well my brother bought it and gave it to me for my 16th birthday .... now I had 2 of them ou: . I drove the Swinger for about a year till the torsion bar tore out of the frame (Car didnt like being airborne) then I drove the 4 door after that. I have the keys to those 2 cars hanging on a chain from the rear view mirror of the 72 Swinger I own now. My Aunt Helen was a great lady , I miss her , and my brother .... I cant say enough good things about him , and that has nothing to do with him giving me a car ! My 1st Buick was 79 Skyhawk ... I hated that car it was a pile .... Its hard to believe that turd and the beautiful Electra I own now came from the same manufacturer. Dan

First car was a '64 Plymouth Belvedere slant 6 with push button automatic , I was 15 . My dad work for the local Chrysler Plymouth dealer and had taken a lady home who was having her car serviced. The Plymouth was parked in her back yard and hadn't moved in years. I paid $75 for it, poured gas down the carb and jumped off the battery and drove it home. Her son had worked his way through college as a house painted, this car had every color paint you could think of splattered all over, inside and out. I spent two year saving money and fixing it up. Drove it through high school and my first year in the service, then had my Dad find me a new Dodge Shelby Charger and traded it in.
1st car my first car was a '72 skylark custom, man I loved that car...a drunk driver hit it while parked the first year I had it.....and with the insurance money, I bought my first '72 stage one!!! now thats dumb luck....even dumber that I sold it in '88.. it was factory black and loaded to the hilt ! in order my faves are; 67 gs400 [ best body style in my opinion] 66 gs [same as above and it has a nailhead!] 71 gs [ cant get enough '71s for some reason] 69 gs [love the hood and first ram air year] 65 gs [ on the list cause its the 1st and the year I was born] '89 reatta [a timeless body design and all the '88 bugs were worked out] '91 reatta [all the '90 bugs were worked out and bigger wheels] surprised there isnt a '70 gs ? , absolutely killer car, the prettiest front and rear to look at, and maybe the "defining GS "period ...but everyone has or wants one, so I gotta be just a little different!!!! john
Oh well..me too Here goes: My first car was a hand-me down from my brother..(he was doing me no favors!) It was 1960 Nash Rambler..fire engine red..3 on the tree..small engine..freqeuently wouldn't start in the cold..what a sh-tbox! I had it in 1964 for about a year..until my family took pity on me nd helped me buy a new car. My favorite (I have put this in a few posts already) was my '72 Skylark..a base sport copue that I optioned up..ordered new and had it for 18 years..in New England with snow and salt..drove it to the junkyard in 1990 and cried on the way home. I still have the steering wheel and the dash..and all the doc....just not the car. My 'new' 72 Skylark convertible is 'filling the void'... Stanley
1973 Century Gran Sport Stage 1 June 1981. This was my first car purchased from my neighbor for $1,200.00 with 42k miles. Paper route money paid for the car and my first car would have been sooner in the form of a '71 Stage 1 car in the next town for $850.00 but my father wouldn't co-sign. Here is a picture of Joe Zamiska having fun with my first car. I think he bought it off me in 1985 and still has it!
