    Andrew,
I didn't see anything in Jim's response that singled you out, except that you brought up a point that generated his answer the first responder, and about the buyer/seller feedback forum. You have obviously touched a nerve that we are interested in enough to leave feedback about.
That said, I am a regular lurker in the parts section, and have bought a number of items. From a "buyers" perspective, I am sorry you have had a frustrating experience. When I say I will buy a part, it means that either the text, or the photos have answered my questions to my satisfaction and the money will be coming. I have bought a few NOS items that turned out not to be as I expected, but that was my fault in those cases. In my zeal to get the part, I was willing to take the risk. (I didn't have my parts book handy, and now will sit on the parts until I can find a use for them.) My ebay experience has been less pleasing, with liars, inflated shipping, etc.
I haven't had a single bad experience on this board, and would hate for yours to cause you to take your goodies elsewhere. The first responder/buyer has as great a responsibility as the seller, considering that he has kept other people from claiming that last-needed item.
"I WILL BUY IT" means BUY IT. It does NOT mean "use this time to think about it, or get my next paycheck, or ask the spouse for an early Christmas gift, or talk to my banker, or inconvenience the seller or next guy in line..."
    Just my .02. Dan

It works both ways.........sellers also can be untrustworthy.

I mentioned this once before in another thread.....once upon a time, around last July, a fellow with only about 6 posts put up for sale a complete '69 Riv disc brake setup with master, booster, prop. valve and rotors for what I think was $300. Naturally I jumped on the offer, and this dreamer contacted me by phone.

His scheme was for me to send him $350 for shipping up front, as he had an extra set of rotors and a "whole pallet" of extra spindles and control arms..... even a few close ratio steering boxes.....the gimmick was I had to take all or nothing. He wanted extra money for the parts I didn't need and wouldn't tell me how much until after he recieved my deposit for shipping because "it was a lot of parts to sort through". I told him I have a relative in the area who would come over to pick these items up, he suddenly was busy painting a car and would call me back. I haven't heard from him since.

At times I can be gullible, but I would have to have been stupid to fall for that one. His handle was 70Riv or something similar so beware in case he tries this again. I'm confident I would have been taken for a ride if I sent this joker any money. :spank:

As for a feedback forum here on V8, I think a rating system is badly needed here........personal attacks should not be allowed in the feedback or it could be deleted by a moderator. There's nothing wrong with stating facts as long as the other member has the opportunity to reply to what was posted.
