I have 15x8 ?Buick ralley wheels w/raised white letter tires. I feel that the wheels would show better/ black tires . give me your opinion!!!111111111 kenny462 72 gs car.
Guess it depends on the look you're going for. I like whites in on dog dishes, whites out on sport/rally wheels.
I'm old too and I like the white letters showing on my Buick rallye wheels. That's the way they came with the wide oval group and G60 tires back in 70-72.
In general, musclecars with 14 or 15s I like the white letters out. It also depends on the brand of tire, though. Some cheaper aftermarket tires have huge white letters on them, and if you cheaped out on tires, do you really want to advertise what brand they are?
When I ran Center Line Drag wheels all around on my 1970 Buick Skylark Custom, it looked nice having white letters out in the fronts and solid black on the rears. I did the same thing on my 1971 GS 455. The rears are BFG Drag Radials. Nando.
I have cooper tires and I really do not like the lettering. it is sloppy looking. car is not original gs not trying to preserve history. t hanks for all the input. kenny462
I dont think of my self as that old.. but I like letters out have cooper cobras letters out on my buick rallys and when I get the steelies painted they too will have letters out with BGF
Are you gonna put steelies and poverty caps on your GS? If so, I think I know someone who might want your rallye wheels.
I like redlines and realize that on our cars white letters aren’t correct before 1970, but I was a kid getting ‘into’ cool cars (both new and older) in the mid seventies. Everything cool by then had white letter tires-it was a mandatory sign or marker of ‘cool’. Didn’t matter if it was a ‘55 Chevy, ‘65 F100, or ‘75 Trans Am. I even talked my dad into rwls when he ordered the ‘85 El Camino. Patrick
Oh man now Im excited! This is the first picture of a silver mist 70 Ive seen as an example. Thanks Ray!!
