Tim,You are correct in the roller rockers on the Tempest, but that was many years ago.Crane just came out with a quality 1.5 rocker a couple of years ago,and we have run since.Back in the late 80,s we were breaking the new trw rockers,so switched to rollers. Not all vehicles are as easy,or cheap to get good parts for as Chevys.Everybody has thier own definition of stock, and i agree with you, once you change cam LS,ramp velocity, etc, your not representing a pure stock motor anymore.I have had some motors that were not certifiable ,and some that were.If anybody cared to know what was in one,all they had to do is ask. The "Notso Stock Race"was a heck of a good time, and i miss it.Considering that there are no prizes, and nobody is getting cheated out of anything, just relax, and enjoy it.No reason to get ill over it.:beer

I've been a big believer of this for a very long time. Not a bracket race, not painted up race cars, just a safety tech, go qualify, run what you brung, minimum rules. Best of three. Baggers would be exposed pretty quickly and find themselves unwelcome rather quickly.

I can't recall ever seeing a musclecar on the street years ago with dog dishes, those were race cars and anybody who fell for that deserved what he got.

John, here is another set of rockers with poly locks. A few days left but they are at $30.00 no bids.

I believe stock rockers are a must in this race. If for no other reason than making it difficult or limiting folks who might be tempted to run a roller cam.

Also if your going to put an aggresive flat tappet cam in and have problems....well I guess that person better take it out because the stock rockers can't handle it.

Kinda like pusher pumps. If the factory fuel system can't support the engine, then your car isn't anywhere near stock.

:( AHHH come on Small,........work with me here......:Dou: I just have to give the brand X crowd a little trouble. :beer

Rest assured, this car WILL be visiting a Pure Stock race. Problem is I am at the mearcy of Uncle Sam on returning to the States to get it there...:( I am chomping at the bit to get my hands back on the car and go to town.:( :(

Here is a question for the local H/O expert. Who has the final say so on what is and is not legal? I have a few grey areas in the rules I need to clear up.

I have "heard" some of these pumps humming in the lanes before making before making a pass.Every year it seems I hear more and more of them.

Real Deal, to you know what production number your car is?If you do how did you get it? I used to belong to the H/O club, and asked several times and NEVER got an answer. After their lack of help I dropped my membership.I have traced my car back to Chesrown Olds. When I bought the car (2005) It was wearing alot of old racing equipment, electric fuel pump, tow tabs, line lock ladder bars,etc.etc. With these two facts it gets me thinking.Your car is an a/c car correct?

Well, this year I've heard the tech guys are going to have poles with mirrors like they have at border crossings.

To check underneath the cars for things like pusher pumps and under dashes for gutting.:Do No: :TU:

My car is Demmer #440. Yes, it is a W-46. I contacted Karl Sarpolis with the VIN# to get the info. He is helpful, but sometimes difficult to get in contact with. It was sold new from Steel City Olds in Birmingham Al. There is at least one person here who has laid eyes on it............
Tell me more about yours...I am all ears....(you hear that Small ?:bglasses: ) :beer
    Got Pictures?:TU:
