Well, we had relatives in from out of town over the weekend, and I'm pretty much done! We're already eating leftovers. Have to bring a dish to pass at the next one on Thursday, with my family.

I'm done with cooking for a few days! It's just reheating for now.

I usually cook for a herd but this year it's just the four of us so we have a small 14lbs turkey and will be turing out all the trimmings. I'm making the boys cook something this year. It's not thanksgiving without football and leftovers.

Rod and I are headed to my mom's for dinner Thursday, need to bring a dish. When we are finished there we are heading out to his mom's farm in Savanna, IL for the weekend. Having dinner again on Saturday, need to make a pie. Good thing we bring the dirt bikes so we can work off all that food and come back for more :Brow:

    I'm going to a restaurant...

Normally we would both cook, but our immediate families don't live in the state. So we're heading up to Whistler BC for a weekend of skiing. We drive out on Thanksgiving and will probably be found at Earl's in Whistler Village for dinner. I'll be having ribs.

I'm in charge of making the sweet potatoes and salad for the family gathering at my aunt's house.

Everybody brings something - many hands make light work :TU:

I'm doing all the cooking. Looks like my mom and sis will be here too. They may pitch in some....
Then the following weekend it's off to Michigan for their Chapter Christmas party. I'll be doing the potatoes for that...mashed and baked potato bar. Looking forward to seeing everyone over the coming weeks.

This will be the first time since getting married 3 years ago that we are "Formerly" having family over to our house for a Holiday meal. Should be ~ 25 people here for Turkey day.....with 4.2 staying over.

Needless to say, I've been "House Prepping" for weeks now - ripped up 3 rooms of carpet (too cheap to pay $200 for removal - HEY !! Thats a new intake !!), painting, mouldings.....the list never ends.

....I'll just be glad Fri Morning when everyone's gone and I can finally get to the job at hand - ripping the motor out of BigRed !!

Ah, Holidays at your own house are great. They force you to finish all those unfinished projects or do the ones you've been meaning to get to.

I'll probably make the mashed potatoes at our house ("think you can do better?" "uhh, yea" and I did :) ).

Mmmmm, mashed potatoes made with sour cream instead of milk, yummy. They are way creamier. Has to be made with real potatoes, not the stuff out of the box.

    BadBrad Got 4-speed?

Yeah - I do much of the work. Comes from being good with a knife in the kitchen or at an NBA game.

I prep and cook da boid too. I spent too many young years in the restaurant biz to let all that on the job training go to waste.

Wuwu20, you're making my husband's favorite dessert! Old family recipe? I've made the one from Better Homes and Garden for years and everyone loves it. I also do the Pillsbury crust - no room to roll out dough.

    Tell us your secrets....

And in regards to potatoes - big thing on the food network this year was using garlic or onion infused cream (meaning heat milk on stove with onion or garlic in it and let it steep) in your spuds. Didn't have the heart to experiment on the family. One of these days...

    Anybody else cooking?
