not since this GS nearly KILLED me! 1978 GS 1000E Suzuki.....Baddest Bike on the Planet that year. Naturally mine wasn't stock, Mikuni smooth bores,RC Engineering cams and 4into1 header. It was the first bike with standard triple disc brakes. This bike is quite a handful by todays standards. Anyway, came around a curve that was on the way to my mom's house......nice 45mph sweeper and they cut a driveway in the apex and all the gravel is in the road :eek2: Lucky that no cars were coming or SPLAT.Anyway, the curve was cut into a small hill and i went off the high side and into the side of the hill. Bent everything in my left leg the wrong way and did not walk right for a year. I still miss the GS that nearly killed me. Peace WildBill
another shot. Peace WildBill how about doing Tire Smok'in Wheelies strapped to 550lbs of top heavy Rice Rocketp :Brow: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2:
It was, but I braced my frame to the old Denco race bike specs, mine is done up mild cafe' style and even looks British including right foot shift!
Re: not since this GS nearly KILLED me! Bill, Close but not the first, The Yamaha XS750 had them in 1977, but the fact that any of the standards from the 70's did is pretty amazing!
Yea my '73 900Z1 had one disc in front and a drum in the rear. (4) 28mm mikuni (where as the later 1000's only had 26mm), Denco 4 into 1 header, K&N Filter in the box, 1 tooth less front sprocket. I street raced everything with it. A 70 W30 4 speed, a dual quad 440 GTX and many other cars and bikes, it was only beaten by a Honda CBX 6 cyl, a couple guys had them on the West side of Anderson, 6 into 1 open header, they sounded awesome. She was stolen at around 1:00am from a parking lot during the CC Street Machine Nats in Indy in 1980. I still have a pic of her at work on my desk.
That's cool! I love those old bikes that are all tricked up with the period parts and modifications. I've been trying to get a shoei sport-fairing for the 400 from a friend. So where's the photo???:Brow:
Here's my chop, I can relate to WildBill's story as I am still coming good from a big off last November. Busted both legs and trashed my Electraglide, so have sold all my dirt bikes, xlcr sporty and my Fireblade, but still have my choppers and am now putting the Electraglide back together!!. I get asked all the time if I will keep riding? I tell 'em I'll give up when they pry my dead fingers off the bars !!
here is one of my daily rider 1978 Yamaha XS750, I put about 10,000 miles a year on this one. I'll post the pics of the H1 as soon as they arrive
Pics: The Blue 1975 750 Iactually just dumped on the highway last saturday. I'm ok but the bike needs a new front end and stuff, will fix it soon. The black bike at the top is my cafe racer h1 500 kawasaki triple (yes it is missing one exhaust pipe) project. The front end is an fzr600 the rear swingarm is an fzr400. My two honda's are in the middle 1975 cb750K and a 1974 cb550 chopper. The bottom is my 1976 cb750F supersport cafe project. Too many projects too little blood.
anybody know why my middle pics won't work? if you want to see the rest of my bike stuff here is the link http://kawasakitriplesworldwide.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=9267
I'm riding a 2003 Victory Vegas, It has Been a great bike so far, built by Polaris Industries, Which I Have owned several snowmobiles, they have done there homework on this bike as far as I am concerned, so far so good! Bruce
Somebody knows somebody who knows how to take pictures! Those are some great shots... Those nickel chambers really stand out on that bike. I'll bet it sounds great. Bruce, I've heard good about the Victory after some initial teething pains. But I'm not a V-twin expert by any means.
Adam, There is a group of pohtographers/riders that go to the gap every weekend and do this, thier site is www.killboy.com you can then purchase the photos! I had a blast, that is the bike I built peice by piece off of ebay in 3 1/2 months last year! Here is another from that weekend
I would post a pic of my '72 Kawasaki H2 triple but it's only a rolling chasis at this point as I'm knee deep in the early resto project stages. Kurt's the only one whose actually seen it as he was kind enough to let me crash when I returned from purchasing the bike a few months ago up his way. We've all heard of the Peterson Musuem in CA.... well, there's Peterson Musuem EAST at Kurt's house with his primo cars/ bikes/ parts. Felt like I should have payed an admission fee! I will post pics once the H2 is done as it will be nice! 2 stroke triples rock!
