I agree with Alan. Save your money and buy a Buick.

    To borrow what Alan said:

Car show full of chevies :boring:

Car show full of Buicks :3gears:

I would have to agree and say wait. When I bought my Buick, I was originally looking for a 1967 SS427 Impala. I looked for almost a year and nothing. So I started looking for alternates and that's when I found my Buick. Then within three months 3 of them became available in various stages of condition.

I have no regrets buying my Buick, but to this day, 3 years later, find myself on ebay cruising the collector car area under the Impala section.

Make sure it's really what you want. If Buick's are your thing, then wait it out for a Wildcat or other car. It'll be worth the wait.

I think every make, even Ford, has it's great cars. I love the 67 Impalas, 70-71 Torinos, 66-67 Chargers. Just love those fastback style cars. But if you want to go fast with one, forget it unless you're willing to supercharge or nitrous. Those things are all 2+ ton behemouths.

I was in the same boat buying market last year.

So I went to my favorite local wrecking yard and looked for a diamond in the rough, as it were. I will admit, I was looking for a chevy. when out of the corner of my eye I spotted one straight car. thought it was a chevelle, until I got closer and found a 4door 67 special deluxe. $800 and I drove it home.

Thus began, buick fever. For some reason buicks remain unmolested. big blocks intact(many still run, even in the yards). emblems in the trunk. console still there. hell they don't fall apart like chevys do. Don't forget, buicks are old folks cars, originally. none of mine have had more than 120,000 miles.

    BETTER GET A BUICK

Oh yeah, I found this one last weekend for 2grand (still delirious)

ill give you the single biggest reason id never own an impala. they are overplayed! to me id rather have something that not everyone and their dog has. go to a car show and imp's are a dime a dozen, every gangsta rapper has one, every hoodrat wants one. how many old buicks do you see out there? nowhere near the ammount of chevy's. to me its about being origional, not following a trend. if i had a dime for every time i heard the word "impala" in a song.....id be a rich man.

but then again...thats me. maybe you dont want something very few people have...your choice..but thats my .02

Up here in the heart of rust country we consider any car made before 1980 that still has floorboards a good find.
Its gonna be your car so dont settle for something you dont really love.
The only time you should ever settle is if its last call at the bar and you are feeling lonely, if you are lucky your friends will have already left and will not see the beast you lure to the car with a twinkie. :Dou:

    to repeat

an earlier question-what exact buick are you looking for and whats your budget? there is a 65 4 speed gs skylark convert in todays paper here, but its pricey-10k, i havent seen it but it has later 455, etc and likely isnt a rust bucket. i know of several others here in socal across a range of budgets-so-what do you want? bender brew just sold a very nice 71 skylark, no drivetrain but all else there for 500!!

    Thanks all

Trust me I know what'll happen as soon as I buy this. A better BUICK deal will come along.Sometimes I'll even walk right into it on purpose if I can afford it (posi!!!) If it sounds as though I'm wishy-washy on this, it's cause the car would be a driver for Brandy (who just wants a classic car!).She would however be happier with a mid-'60's 2-door coupe! For the record this Imp is a nice car! Runs real nice. Some things just need some attention. BTW it is a 2 door! Also budget is tight on this as well. Can't spend more than $3,500 on car and some maintainence to make it a decent driver. Things will change in the next year as hopefully I will finally recieve the back surgury that has been eluding me for the past 2 years (ask how I feel about lawyers :af: )and start workin' again :) Maybe at that point I can "flip" the Imp for a profit and grab onto a NICER BUICK! I've been lookin' high and low (hemmings, ebay, old car, even local paper), wasted 3 days and $700 on a trip to Tampa, had several V8 guys look into 2 cars for me north of the Mason/Dixon to no avail :beer , but still lookin' anyway. What ever happens, I will own more Buicks!!! , if I can find them. :Do No:
BTW Case don't forget Sat. night in Meraux!!!! :3gears:
