First and foremost, this thread is for pure satirical humor. There might be an occasional tidbit of information, but mostly I don’t care. If you need accurate information you should go to the national hurricane center website. If you want spaghetti models, you’d better look that up yourself. The only spaghetti models you’ll find here is if I can find pictures of hot chicks eating spaghetti. You have been warned… This is chief meteorologist Dave Henderson from WFUP. There are two tropical disturbances in the Atlantic ocean at this time. One is in the western Caribbean, and the other one is just coming off the coast of Africa. They are having a race to be named. Whatever name they choose, the one in the western Caribbean is much closer to us, and at this time puts Florida in the bull’s-eye. They, other meteorologists from lesser-known TV stations, are predicting a hurricane somewhere in Florida by Tuesday or Wednesday. My house is already prepared because I put up my storm shutters in June before I leave for Virginia. Yes, it is very dark in my house. Very soothing too. I guess for starters I’ll go to the gas station and get some gas for the generator. Beats the heck out of waiting for the rush when people get off work today or watch the evening news tonight. TTYL…… PS, I need to stock up on supplies. Mostly beer.

Yeh, looks like your the target. Hope you don't need to lift the car that high. I'm sure the cone of probability will change almost daily, but going into the gulf someone is gonna get hit.
Here in SW Florida the people are already in full hurricane mode. We have a well and a full-house generator, so I'm not all that worried about a storm. I did head for the gas station to fill the riding lawnmower's tank (nothing to do with the possible storm) and when I saw how busy the station was, I decided to fill the car too. By the time I had filled the car - which had a weak 3/4 tank of gas, the line at the pumps was about 25 cars long. I stopped in to the local Publix, and there was a bottled water stampede going on. I bought two bottles of my favorite soda and left. Ironically, the propane company filled the 250 gallon generator tank less then a week ago. We are in about as good shape as we can be. Every window in the house except one is impact glass so if we get hit, I only have one shutter to put up.
Dave, looks like it is going in across from us on the Gulf side. That is till you weather guys change your mind.
About time a hurricane popped up that could actually hit the US. It was supposed to be a bad year/record year. Time for John/Waterboy to try windsurfing
Dear John, Oh heck yeah, a dear John letter. I tried surfing when I was a teenager. I was with my buddy. He was on one surfboard, and I was on another one. I don’t know what happened but apparently we crashed into each other. I got a broken nose and he got a blackeye. I can only figure that my nose smashed into his eye, or vice a versa. I’ll stick with leaning up against the house and drinking a beer. Much safer!
I thought we might have gotten lucky this year. I’ve got three houses to shutter. So much for my weekend.
Donny, that doesn’t sound like fun. I’m rounding up Palm Franz that are all around the house right now. At least they will go away in the trash on Monday. My house has been shuttered since June. Big checkmark!

This is chief meteorologist Dave Henderson with WFUP. I’m here with the 2 o’clock update. Yeah, yeah, I’m a little late. I was having trouble getting the spaghetti models on my phone. Three of the models don’t look too bad at all. The upper right hand corner model appears to be calling the hurricane right to her. The next update might be around 5 PM, unless I’m out boating.
Just one more reason I'm happy to reside in the frozen tundra. Much rather deal with a blizzard since their winds seldom exceed 50 mph. Which reminds me I ought to test run my snowblower. Whatever happens down there, everyone stay safe and don't catch any stop signs with your spleen.
Well, given living with an occasional blizzard while my GS sits in the garage for 4+ months or more, vs. living with the occasional hurricane in my concrete block house and go to the next car show the weekend after the hurricane hits, I'll take the south any day. We did have a bad one back in 2010, Hurricane Charlie, that put a 40 ft. Sycamore tree on top of my roof and a bunch of others all over our lot. Funny, the 1990 Olds Touring Sedan had to sit outside so I could park my GSX in the garage and didn't receive a scratch. Lost power for about two weeks with that one.

Well I guess it’s official. Tropical storm Hermine was just named off the African coast, so I guess we are stuck with Ian. I personally don’t like either one of the names. I’m still predicting that Richard will hit us sometime at the end of September, or early November. That’s my brothers name and he is a real DI*K!
Dang, I just realized I’m so old we did not have bottled water when I was a kid. I hear John Codman saying the bottled water was going fast at the grocery store he was at. I remember the first hurricane my wife and I were in after we owned the house. Still wasn’t anything such as bottled water. They used to tell you to fill your bathtub up with water. We did that. It was empty the next morning. What a waste of 50 gallons of water. We actually don’t worry about water anymore. Everyone has city water. If the water is not good in my house I can go down the street and get it from someone else’s house. Besides, didn’t Columbus and all his men drink beer on the way over here. I think they drank too much beer personally. If they were thinking a big fat ugly manatee looked like a mermaid, they definitely drank too much beer!
Meh... I'm not too worried about it. We'll see what happens to it over the next couple days. Now, it's only a tropical depression. I do enjoy the Waterboy updates though!
Blew in from the top of the screen enclosure which was torn away. Total bull for that one was about $35,000.
