Tom, Try the "stock" oil pressure spring. Same thing happened to me earlier this year, but I took out the cam gear too... I've also gone to the bronze gear for safe measure. -John
On my 72 Stage 1 that I race at the F.A.S.T. races, I use all stock pieces with maybe the exception of the spring (can't recall anymore) Nothing fancy, just real tight clearences and 'ported' oil passages in front cover and block. I go thru the traps with about 70lb's oil pressure.
