I know I wish I could make it but I am not able to due to work. Looking to do some events this summer while on vacation.
I've recently turned from Street strip to protouring and never looked back. Gone are the factory disc's/ drums, the slow ratio manual steering, 90/10 suspension and MT drag radials I kept was the potent 464 with, heads, solid cam and a very streetable dominator on an SPX, complete with halo girdle and a trap door al oil pan. Car 71 GS Blue Pearl paint/ Suspension Front: Dual adjustable coilovers (so I can adjust between handling & odd strip run) Latest UMI upper tubular uppers with tall ball joints UMI lower tubulars Jeep Grand Cherokee Fast Ratio steering box Rear: Edelbrock ball style adjustable uppers Lakewood rectangular tubular lowers (with dropped instant center relocation) Lowering springs Edelbrock tubular triangular braces Brakes: 13.4" C6-Z51 Corvette with Kore 3 brackets in front 13" C6-Z51 Corvette with Kore 3 Brackets in Rear Wilwood Master Wheels & Tires 9.5" Boss 338 rims with 295-35R18 BFG KDW handing tires (11" of tread) 8" Boss 338 rims with 245-40R-18 BFG KDW's Tom
Thanks, For the ebrake I'll be using using the factory Corvette style drum adapted with Kore 3 addon to the rear brackets and connecting it with a with a Lokar cable. Tom
Nice job!!! ---------- Post added at 08:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:48 PM ---------- :TU: I don't think it's to low LOL!!!
I'm not finished with lowering it yet. There's another 1" on the coilover adjustment and I've bought some new rear lowering springs for the same amount. I just just need to clear the the rear tires, as the Z-51 vette brakes space the 295 -35 -18 pretty close to the stock fender lip. Attached pic of front brake conversion. I'm located near Milton, Ontario. Tom
I'll hit you up for a custom road race 350 pan some time this coming Year and perhaps tank modifications if willing :-D
It is surprising that it looks better without the wheel well trim, but I think it really does look cleaner.
Thanks for the compliment Willby I first wasn't sure at first, but agree the absence of the wheel trim mouldings does give it a cleaner look. It accentuates more of the wheel design & brings out its machined finish. Update: I have purchased UMI's adjustable lower rear tubular arms and and their tubular Pro touring rear bar. It's just to cold to work in the garage now, so I after Feb sometime I'll do the install and tweak the height before hitting the alignment shop. Tom
Let us know how you like that rear bar. I have one of their standard rears (bought it before the new one came out), and I'm curious to see if it's worth changing mine out for it. The install requires some drilling I think.... That part scared me off a little as well.
custom GS hood, mostly heidts suspension, big brakes, etc. I've taken it to the road course track days several times, it does pretty good. Seems to be fairly well balanced, but pushes a little on entrance. I'm struggling to attach photos, hope this works. Ben
