There is probably going to be a white 73 stage one at my house next year sometime for Jason to come and detail. Stay tuned!
hey jason, i see a 3rd hole on the hood for tach {the one closer to the front} my march built x only has 2 holes for tach. am i missing something on mine?
thats interesting, my car is a month older than yours. i will have to check the underside of hood to see if mine had a rivit as its been painted in the past.
Today progress- Took the cluster completely apart. Removed all the lenses and polished them up. While the triple gauge cluster is out, im gonna send it out to Scott to have it all checked out and calibrated. Took the radio apart and gave it a light cosmetic refresh. Had to repair a stripped screw hole in the heater box. I used loctite plastic steel epoxy. Stay tuned for my review in a couple days when it cures. Sorry, no pics. My plate was kinda full. I have a house project going at the same time. Taking down a ceiling and putting up some bead board. Been running back and forth from the house to the garage! But I'm still trying to get something done on this car every day.
well mine should have it. i think it falls between jason car and yours. its build date is 03d #149 {not sure what the 149 is?} Jason keep the pics going, i will be tearing my complete dash out early spring to repair/replace a whole lot of butchery and wear and tear that has occured over the years. charlie.
Radio came out nice! And here's why the speedo didn't work! Got a little too close to the exhaust pipe Looks like someone repainted the consolette at some point. It's on way too thick too. So it's getting stripped and repainted. Consolette is the nicest I have ever seen. All three pins intact and the chrome is fantastic for 51 years old.
And while I had everything apart, I took the gorgeous, replated 5335 handle and swapped it out for a nice original one thst shows a little wear. Perfectly suited for this car. And here's the triple gauge cluster with its freshly polished lens
Brave, apparently you have used that product on vinyl/plastic before. As I think that's what's under there.
It's all pot metal. The grain is cast into it. Same thibg I did on the aquamist car. I use sem trim black on that one.
There's a deep reason for that....also the reason why all my cars have fiberglass belted tires. When I drive a GS, I want to experience the car like it was in 1970. Thsts why I drive an old car. I want to feel the crappy ride and the dimly lit dash. I don't want to make the car "better". It's great just the way Buick made it 50 years ago
I got the tank vent kit from Inline tube today so I can button up the tank tomorrow. My 1970 bumper jack assy should also be here any day. I blew the dust off a nice used, period correct G60 I've been saving to use as a spare
