Does the A9 (GSX option) show on the POP?, if not the only identifying item would be the Q-Q on the cowl tag. The BB Tag and the VIN just show that its a GS455.
GS Historic documents would tie things together.

I don't have a dog in this fight, so this is more of a general question.

I would agree, as I previously stated, in this case the body tag that states "Q-Q" is the rightful basis for the claim of authenticity...

In your defense, the seller posted his answer on BaT at about the same time you were posting your reply here.

The POP does not show A9 but it does show the paint code. With this car being yellow the QQ on the POP confirms the car as a GSX.

For anyone looking for more than the cowl tag as Jason stated you have everything you need to know on the POP- QQ 188 and SS as well as BB. Looks like a great Stage X with a couple things clearly stated changed that either matter or not to you. Arguably the top muscle car of 1970.
my goodness - someone posted a link to this soap opera (Fred correctly called it) on the BAT auction? Out of respect to the seller someone should delete the nonsense that has nothing to do with the car.

Thank you. I need to shut-up and let someone buy this really nice GSX. My favorite Buick and my favorite color for a GSX Buick. VET

To get really technical, in the case of a Stage 1 car, the POP will also tell whether or not the car came with A/C as the POP also provides the rear end code (for a Stage 1 car OO or ON).

The car currently being auctions had the ON code, thus indicating that the car originally was manufactured without A/C.

adding factory options to any rare daily/weekend driver musclecar is not going to hurt its value one bit! if a serious collector or someone else is to buy it and do a proper restoration these add ons can be simply removed and sold to recoupe some $$. car in question is not a "correct" restored car just a nice driver. i am going to install factory rear defrost, power bucket, electric trunk, maybe even power windows to my 70 gsx stg 1 4speed car. why.......because its a driver and i want and like the convenances! if i decide to do another frame off points car i will return it to as it left the factory appearance. having the wayne roberts would be nice but does not really add anything to this car.

Every buyer/collector has their own set of standards.

Removing tilt steering or rear defrost is a much different prospect with a much lower cost factor than returning A/C to heater only or electric windows to manual windows.

Regarding impact on value, this thread itself started with evidence of this exact car losing a potential buyer specifically because of the modifications being discussed right now. I would define that as impacting the value.

Thanks for the tax bracket, looks like I'm in the 22% bracket, Married filing jointly.

When I bought my 70 GS, I sold some of my stocks. That counted as income and jacked up my income where I had to pay $10K in federal tases.
    Wow, that hurt.

I explored all manner of ways to avoid paying any more taxes than I have too.
Home equity unfortunately you can't deduct all the interest plus it's still expensive on the interest rates.

I went to my Bank wealth adviser and the Bank has a great plan. The bank has what is called a Priority Credit Line (PCL).

How it works. The Bank looks at your stock market Brokerage account and determines how much they will loan
you based on the value of your stocks. I can pay off the loan by selling my stock. Which I did a couple of days ago.
    See below for full explanation.
The loan rate is less than a home equity loan. Vet

Withdrawing money from a PCL bank account is not income, but rather a loan that you have to repay with interest.
A PCL bank account is a type of securities-based borrowing, where you use your investments as collateral for a line of credit. You can use the borrowed funds for almost any purpose, except for buying more securities.

    Agree with you 100%.
I did the same thing as you did on my 70 GS 455.
    Tilt steering.
    3 Spoke steering wheel.
    Stage 1 deluxe interior.
    Bucket seats.
    Floor console with floor shifter.
Led head lights because I couldn't see the road at night, they look to be original (by Holley).
Backup camera because I don't want to bash the rear of my car.
Sport mirrors because they look so cool and muscle up the car.
Added sound deadening material on the floors.
Added a radio that look like the original am/fm Buick model but also has Bluetooth.
    Ceramic coated the paint.
    Going to add, power windows.
I did get the Slone Report. No plans to ever sell my GS.

    The previous owner added,
    F41 suspension package. Handles great.
Red line tires. I like, looks good.

Why??? Because it's a driver NOT a garage queen..... :D:) Vet

That's exactly why I'm trying to figure out why people bidding are upset that he doesn't have or post the historical documents, when it should only benefit them financially. Even guys that aren't interested in bidding are asking to see the documents. Would it be nice to open the pics to see them, sure. But that's not going to happen as he doesn't have them.

The seller is a very knowledgeable Buick enthusiast who has had at least one other GSX. He knows what those documents are and has chosen not to purchase them as he probably didn't have any doubt about the car when he bought it. Maybe he got the car cheap and is not trying to squeeze every dollar he can out of the car, who knows. But, knowing him and his reputation, he is not trying to hide anything or keep anyone from purchasing the documents as all the info needed to do so is in the pics.

People telling a real bidder , that’s already put up a lot of money , what they don’t need , is something else . They have the right to ask for whatever information they need , prior to making a purchase . Last i checked this isn’t a group fractional ownership acqusition . If it is let me know where to send the go fund me , and I got dibs on April .

As a Staff Member, why do you keep this going? This thread isn't about me. Better yet, why not post my response along with this "reposted" BS.

You have absolutely nothing on me except we don't agree and you want your buddy to make $150K for his car.

Bottom line, I think (as others) your buddy had the holy grail and screwed it up, but still wants his $150K and your minions are upset with me because your buddy may not make as much - boo hoo...

Keep what going? The discussion? I'm not here to delete posts and threads I don't agree with. Despite what some may think, I'm not a hall monitor. You can post anything you want so long as it is within the guidelines of the forum. And as a moderator, I'm still free to post my opinions on here no matter how wrong everyone may think they are.

The seller is not my buddy. I don't think I ever met the guy. I have no dog in this fight and I could care less what the market value is on GSX's. Who the heck would want to drive around in Buick that looks like a checker taxi cab? :D:p
