Thanks for all the comments guys so yesterday after doing honey do's....... Turn closet hallway into a somewhat pantry etc.. We got to work on car. He wants to clean up the inside first for now. So started to grease up and lube window tracks door latches and remove carpet and clean up the floors and trunk area. We went to jo Ann's and picked up some fabric and things to see if we can redo the door panels they are flat and should be able to redo them as a cheap for now thing.
Joe, With your awesome ideas and attention to detail I can't wait to see it finished. Very cool father/son project!!!
Good work! I'm going to enjoy following this thread, I've been toying with the idea myself of getting the boy out into the garage, but the project I had lined up fell through and I haven't found a suitable (cheap) replacement yet. Those floors look pretty solid; you lucked out there!
Yep good solid floors for sure there is a couple of very small holes nothing crazy though Here is one door mocked up
Looking pretty sharp! You should use rhino guard (spray in/ roll on bed liner) on the floors simple fix and it looks tough
NICE !!! Dad had a '52 Chey coupe three on the tree, that and a three on the tree Dodge pick up is what i learned to drie
Did some things yesterday. Dash is back together seat covers finished the floorplans and slapped in a simple thin speaker style carpet made a package tray and kick panels. Remember my son is doing a budget car for now he's gotta learn. Hopefully finish polishing door moldings today and install door panels. Will post more pics later.. We will be outside with the Superbowl playing in the background remember we are car guys before sports...
Looking great brother. The gray inside with the blue out is going to be sharp.... those seat covers aren't cheap up here! That's what all the ranchers and farm guys run so they're dang near as expensive as upholstery. I always liked them, going to probably put the same in the beater.
