I hate going to Home Depot, but I love this thread! Can't wait to see the finishing touches!!! Have a GREAT Sunday!
Here ya go mock up for now Done for the day Next weekend plugs wires and hopefully paint wheelwells and frame stuff
NICE... I really lovin' the head bolt crowns. You should do some studs with chrome or SS acorn nuts on the side cover and the other stuff as well! I wish todays V belts were that meaty too!! ws
Maybe it is because of the pics, but to me the carb looks like it is asking for some love . All other stuff looks great. Maybe you should cut some openings into the hood, so that the beauty makes it to the outside more often.
Yeah carb and most parts are just hand right for now need to grab a carb kit too she was leaking a bit from the top plate
Yesterday was more scrubbing of engine compartment area also we removed the gauges and got a decal kit for them did a test spray of the black to see if it was satin enough Also fellas he started working at McDonald's down the street last night at 730pm till 11 and was asked if he could come in this morning at 900 so he is working. I'm proud of him. Me n pops are out here doing some little things.
This is going to look fabulous! Cool, that your boy sets the priorities in the right order. This is not a given for guys in his age. I can understand, that you are proud of him.
Great thread. Great updates. So much appreciation for the entire project. Looking great. Love the gauges update. Your son should be proud of himself as well. Starting work early in life will carry.
Joe it's because of fathers like you I have hope for some of the next generation coming up! I too was raised "Oldschool" on the sense of having respect, priorities and expect nothing, work hard for everything. I am instilling those same values in my daughter's 11&9 in Hope's they can appreciate things that come from hard work in life instead of feeling entitled and that the world owes them something. Cheers to you and your son Joe, keep on keepin' on
Don't know how I missed this thread for so long, but WOW!!! you two have made a LOT of progress, and it shows in your son's willingness to work for what he wants, and your having trained him so well in all aspects of life!
Hopefully we can slide motor in place today. Paint is drying And odds and ends are being cleaned and painted
Sorry its been a while Joe... certain "privileged" individuals yerked me off to the point of me taking a hiatus. THEY KNOW WHO THEY ARE, Right Jim???? Anyways, get yerself an assortment and a spin on the buff will have them looking like chrome. Theres also a way less chance of getting rusty. I try to use SS wherever/whenever possible. Youre already about 50 lengths ahead of the judges so that shouldn't be an issue right? Keep up the good work and keep the kid busy! ws https://www.google.com/search?q=sta...j0i22i30l6.9828j0j15&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
