Patton, if these were white they would be mine. I am going to need a set for my Aquamist 70 GS 350 that was once owned by a board member in Austin.

    Hey Patton,

Would you do a core exchange? I have the long armrests, but they need to be restored. I'm curious what the price would be if I gave you mine.

Ed---Thanks. I know the car and "Austin owner" (Chris Lott) and did some diagnosis on it in the past when it was getting some work done on it. It's a cool color combo and, of course being a 70 GS, a COOL car!

Ken--I might consider it but there are quite a few factors that come into play....I'll pm you.

In the meantime, these are still for sale

    Thanks

Thanks for inquiring....they are tentatively sold but I haven't received payment yet. If the current deal falls through I will contact you. I should be getting the check this week and I'll post here or PM you and let you know what the deal is.

If you have a set that is restorable I can also do the work for you.

    Thanks again.

I'll only offer this if your are sold. But I have the Black set you restored for me that are at least as nice ? That I won't be using now, only because I did not buy the car with Black interior I was interested in.

dchildres, I know for a fact Patton has a LOT of labor into these. Whether you choose to have him restore a set for you or not. He is very meticulous .
    Thanks,
    DL

    Patton:
Do you need cores to do the restore or do you have a stockpile of them.

Don--Thanks...the check should arrive this week. I'll post here as soon as it arrives and I feel pretty confident it is on the way.

Mike--I generally don't have cores in stock. I have one pair of blue long bases (blue pearl/metallic look..untouched) but I may be keeping those until I can find one or two long pads to go with them. I may have one or two pair of short bases here (I have a pair of black short bases already reshot in black...haven't recovered the armrest pads on them yet).

What do you have?? Long or short bases/armrests?

    What color?

Unless they are going black I leave it to the customer to source the vinyl for recovering the pads. Legendary, or whoever you are getting interior parts from is the best source because you then know you will get the right match/texture, etc in the vinyl. Pictures are pretty useless when it comes to matching colors and it can get very time consuming emailing back and forth, trying to get samples, etc. They will sell you a yard or less of the material (that's what we did on a pair of white bases/pads that I restored for Don).

Finally, most of the bases came with the narrow stainless strip inserts...I suggest you find inserts that already meet your satisfaction in terms of condition, no gouges, etc. The dents cannot be removed on these because they are thin stainless that is wrapped around and crimped over a steel backing strip/core. Thus, you can't get to the backside of the actual stainless part to work out any dings, etc. Additionally, doing work on stainless is not cost effective....it takes me forever the way I do it and the charge would be too high if it were possible for me get to the backside of the stainless (which it's not), The stainless strips are usually in pretty good shape but if you have or get one with a bad stainless strip you are better off finding someone with a decent stainless piece and buying it.

The short stainless insert strips are all over the place (on LOTS of cars) so getting a decent one isn't a problem.

Turns out mine are 13.5 inch pads and bases for the 4 door vehicles. So there are two plain fronts and two rears with ashtrays.
Black is the color and I will take care of having the bases chromed.
    How do we proceed?

EDIT: RECEIVED THE $$ TODAY FOR THESE SO THEY ARE SOLD...Thanks Jay!!

It depends on the vinyl grain pattern. What year are yours for?

I can send you a sample of the black vinyl I have so you can make sure the grain matches.

Let's do this via email or pm so we don't keep bumping down other current ads.

    Thanks
