The 66 has a new convertible top with frame redone as well. Looks like new. The motor and tranny were rebuilt before it came from the original owner in California around 5000 miles ago.
Chrome, paint and other cosmetics are not perfect but fine for a driver. So it's a little worn out and tired like me but running strong still.
The 64 is rougher in the body and I have not tried to get it running yet. Just picked it up 3 weeks back and it went straight from the tow truck into my shop.
I have some ideas about leaving the body and paint(rust) alone and squeezing as much HP as possible out of the 425 Super Wildcat setup.
You know, so I can make it to the next stop light before the other guy knows what the heck just happened.[IMG]

Thanks Steve. I just got a copy of Smokey Yunick's Power Secrets. Time to do some research and see if I am up to doing this job myself or if it's time to find a good nailhead mechanic in Canada.:Do No:

    Hi gscat

Nice cars, looking at your photos the 66 has a California dress up kit on it. Your valve covers are 66 Calif. with the "dent " in the front for the A.I.R. pump and the provisions for the recirculating breather, along with the oil fill make them California. The breather went from the valve cover to the hole in the side of the air cleaner. If this is a Calf. car you are missing the A.I.R. system (the heads have a hole in each exhaust port where the air is injected).

Running with the hole on the side of the air cleaner open is no big deal as it is before the air cleaner. However you may not have noticed the air cleaner has a 1" hole inside of the air filter and open to the bottom of the housing. This is for the A.I.R. inlet air. This hole needs to be plugged when the system is absent so your not pulling in unfiltered air into your motor.

The 66 Calif. air cleaner is different from the 65 Calif. as the breather inlet hole was in the snorkel in 65, snorkel inlet was rotated in 66 due to the A.I.R. pump which was a 66 only item.

I have an extra A.I.R. system (very hard to find, every one pulled them and tossed it) if your interested and need it.

Also I am looking for a Dual Quad air cleaner, if anyone else contacted you after you bought the one for your car I would appreciate it if you would send them my way.

    Hey Wayne,
Thanks for the info on the 66. I could not decide if the indent was factory or if someone hit it with a hammer.
It is a California car so would have had the AIR parts you are selling. Send me a PM with pictures and price and I might buy them?
Unfortunately I was not offered any other air cleaners on this site. I have seen a few come up on evilbay but they usually go for big bucks.
I do keep my eyes open for them and will contact you if I see one for sale.

    Nice 66!

Did it happen to spend time in WA state, before the guy you bought it from? Looks like one that a friend of mine here owned for a short while.....

If your friends name is Steve from Kirkland then this is the same car for sure. The guy I bought it from only had it for around 6 months as well but did a ton of work to it.
I am sure he was planning on keeping it but got in a situation where he had to sell it. He was not a happy camper as I pulled away:ball:. He gave me all the receipts including the paperwork from when he bought it from Steve. I was going to contact him at some point to ask some questions like does he still have the original California title. Also I think the tranny might not be original, looks like it's from a Riviera of same year. Maybe a build sheet???[IMG]
