This is a vary solid hood "no rust". It's an AZ hood. One small dent on front center "see pic" Scoops have the normal pitting but all studs are there.

$300. I can deliver at the GS NATS. 901-296-5038

Is this something you need to move quickly? If you are OK with holding onto it for a few months until the GS Nationals I would like to get in line. I need to check with the Uncle and see if he is interested. He is a member here on the board but never posts. We should be coming down 40 through TN on the way to and from the Nats and could possibly detour to pick it up.

Are there 2 holes for a hood ornament? Might be from a Special.
No real difference... Holes for the GS grille studs should be oval. If it's a modified Special hood, they're probably drilled round holes.

Good call Walt. I didn't even notice those holes yesterday. If it is a solid hood and the louvers are installed in the correct locations on the hood, then it's still worth something for sure. Just have to look at it a little closer to make sure the louvers are in the correct locations for an actual GS hood.

Hey Don... AAARRGH! I shouldda posted an 'INTERESTED' but instead, I forwarded a 66 customer your number... I hope JOE PORTO from Spring Hill FL called you?

If not, my bad, nevertheless, in line for JOE and the whole shabang if it gets to me...

I never said one thing about thing about the scoops being the same price with or without the hood. You asked about that in your PM my reply was" No. I would really rather sale them with the hood." Dennis if I don't here from Johnny or Todd this weekend you're up. :Dou:

Good Morning all - My apologies for taking so long to get back with an answer. Crazy weekend. I was in touch with bigds65 over the weekend and I sent a PM to him this morning. As Walt pointed out, the hood appears to be a Special hood that has been converted. If that is in fact the case, then we are going to go ahead and pass. And I believe Todd would be up next. Thanks again for everyone's patience.

Time to clean this up a little bit. This is a Special hood that I put the scoops on about 10 years ago. I had no intention of selling this hood as a true 66 GS hood. That was the main reason I added my Phone # to the post. Two people have called me as I requested One member from Pittsburg PA and Dennis Wheeler, aka "Wheels". When the guy from PA called maybe 15 minuets after I posted the hood the first thing I wanted to talk about was that this was a Special hood with 66 GS scoops added. And I'm hopping he chimes in on this post to confirm that because I don't remember his name.
Secondly the scoops are in the correct spot on the hood. You can tell this by looking at the # 2 pic. If you look close you can see that the studs on the scoops are lined up with the holes in the inner structure of the "Special hood". In reality all three hoods are the same and the inner structure is set up for the Special, Skylark and the GS. Once again if you look close at the # 2 pic you can see the "Special hood" was already set up for the Skylark and the GS application also. The only difference is the holes in the hood skin for what ever application is needed, the "Special hood ornament" the "Skylark hood spare" or the "GS scoops".
Thirdly if you're a purest in the hobby and you would never put a 66 Special hood on a 66 GS, "and I have no problem with that at all" disregard this post.

Don - Thanks for clearing that up and I do apologize for not picking up the phone and calling. I hope you don't think that I (or Walt) was trying to insinuate that you were trying to pass off a Special hood as a GS hood. It was just a clarification that was needed is all. And you are absolutely correct that the hoods for the 3 cars are identical, less the holes in the skin for whichever application it belongs to. You are also correct, that for a non purist this hood would be just fine. Unfortunately/Fortunately "oh Uncle Dearist" can be quite the purist at times. Again, good luck with the sale and I am sure someone here will gladly take it off your hands.

Interested & I am the Pittsburgh caller, that talked with him 1st. Don had told me, that this was a Arizona Special hood & he had added the Scoops. I didn't show interest & here on the board, until now .... & will wait my turn.

    Thanks, Jeff
