Ryans-GSX Have fun, life is short.

I have always preferred the 70-72 cars but the older ones are really growing on me. I really like that its a convertible. I really miss having a drop top.

I like the car because it is different. Doubt anyone will see another just like it.

If the seat upholstery was some random pattern I might be less interested, but it is pretty cool that someone went through the effort and expense to replicate the stock pattern with different color vinyl.

This car is close by where my brother lives. If anyone has any specific questions or wants additional pictures of something he may be able to take a look at it.

If I didn't have my car already, I would be taking a serious look at this one.

If it was a hardtop or Post I'd have already been up to check it out and likely own it by now.

Well, the ad is down so maybe it sold.

Was $29751 and has now been relisted on Craigslist for $34,900. The new ad has a photo of the trim tag and the interior was originally Yellow bucket seats. The paint original color is Ivory with a white convertible top.

Yellow bucket seats and a white top? Personally I think the green/green is a major improvement.

I think the interior actually decodes as "Saddle"?

For a '67 Buick A-body interior trim code 193 is Yellow bucket seats. Saddle is trim code 163 and was offered in the '67 Skylark convertible but not offered in a '67 GS400. Unfortunately, a certain well-respected interior manufacturer has Saddle incorrect in their catalog as code 193 and people take it as the gospel truth when in fact it is an error. I even met a gentleman that restored his '67 GS400 with one of those reproduction Saddle interiors because the catalog said it was correct.

Here are the trim codes for the various interior choices for the '67 Skylark convertible (model 4467) and the '67 GS400 (4617 GS400 HT, 4667 GS400 convertible) taken right from Buick internal production documents. I always thought it was strange that choices for the GS 400 hardtop & sedan and the GS 400 convertible were different. Dove and Aqua bucket seats were offered in the GS 400 hardtop and sedan but not in the GS 400 convertible. Red bucket seats were offered in the GS 400 convertible but not available in the hardtop and sedan. So, if you see red bucket seats in a '67 hardtop, they were added.

Here is an explanation from Duane about the '67 Interior colors and codes where he mentions the Saddle and Yellow interiors in a '67.

Thanks, I looked at this webpage: https://www.tpocr.com/buickbp7.html which seems to indicate "saddle" if I am reading it right.
Guess I am not the only one or the first to get this wrong ;~)

The photo in the thread Patrick linked to, doesn't look that "yellow' to me? Do we have photo of what that looked like somewhere?

He should probably resist there above for $50,000 on Wisconsin Craigslist.

Yes, very similar to Brian's car except Brian's car left the factory with the rare Ivory convertible top (114 made) while the car for sale on CL had a more common white top (664 made). They both have the rarest interior in a '67 GS 400, yellow bucket seats = 151 built.

You are reading it right, but that website and many others are wrong. Saddle was never offered in the GS400 and ZERO were built according to the Buick production documents. The misinformation about the Saddle interior is very unfortunate because PUI (now called RPUI) sells it to people as if it is correct. The guy I met last year was in disbelief that he spent thousands of dollars restoring a car to have a saddle interior based on an incorrect website.

The yellow interior is not really yellow as you might imagine in your mind. It really looks more like off-white. This is a stunning unrestored '67 GS400 with only 9,600 miles. It has the original yellow bucket seat interior (trim code 193). It looks like a Dove (white) bucket seat interior that aged in the sun. So many people have seen '67s with the yellow interior and just didn't realize that it was the "yellow" interior.

Nice! I admit that looks a lot better than the "yellow" I imagined.

Exactly, the Yellow interior looks pretty good. It was just not given a proper name to describe it. I've had people say "I've never seen a '67 with a yellow interior" but it's because they aren't the yellow color that imagine in their mind. There were 596 GS 400s built with the yellow interior (hardtop, sedan, & convt).

Looking at the link you provided, notice it has 163 as Saddle for a Skylark but then has 193 as Saddle for the GS400 but Buick A-bodies use the same codes across models. For instance, a black bucket seat interior is 198 in a Skylark and is 198 in a GS. So that should be the first red flag. If the GS400 had been offered with Saddle it would have been 163, just like the Skylark. Also, notice that they don't even list the code 193 yellow bucket seat interior for the Skylark even though there were some built in 1967. Always treat these online websites as a guide but keep in mind they are not always correct.

They probably copied it from the PUI (now called RPUI) upholstery catalog. :)

Does RPUI/PUI still have this wrong?
