There is going to be some great car at Kisseme for Mecum starting the new year. May head up there that weekend.

IF the same car as George posted links to, I saw a pic once of the trans VIN stamp it looked pretty sketchy. Certainly something SCO about the car and most likely an X but... If the trans tunnel/hump is original might be the best indicator if it was orig. a 4-sp.

I bet this thing is stunning in the sun. Wonder what it is worth?

I know that there was quite a bit of information about this car floating around here. I'm getting interested in it and wondering if someone here might have a contact for the current owner? Not looking to stir up the past just looking for what his expectations might be. I can drive down and take a look but really don't want to waste my time if he is shooting for the moon.

Don't all GSX's come with the stainless wheel opening trim?

I am surprised that no one has any information on the owner or seller of this car?

Show up in January and you find out what it’s worth….lol……but seriously I’m betting $95-105,000 That’s what I would be wanting if I was the seller.
Despite its pedigree, it’s real X and a 4-speed and it’s absolutely beautiful.

I’ve seen that stamp on older A6 and A5 compressors but I don’t recall seeing it on any 70+ cars. I could be mistaken though.

Yep, I've seen those stamps on the early 60s Buicks

Oh I am going but it will be the next weekend. Can't say I am interested at those numbers though.
I am hoping to be able to talk to the owner before the car runs.

Is it not owned by the same person who did in the thread linked to above?

Yes my friend just verified the guys name is Glenn Long. He owned it for many years in Lynn Ma. He know drives a 2016 scat pack Challenger and is out of the Buick scene. This is the car I am talking about and is believed to be a 350 4 speed 1971 GSX.
Peter you seem to have all of this info but still let people like myself do the research for you ? Every time we bring up new info you want to clear the air with updates. Just lay it all out there and be done with it. You have a restored GSX and you upgraded the engine to a 455. I believe the original 350 numbers engine to this one is long gone by know but you could look for it and try to sell it with the car. A blue GSX sold recently with a 455 and the new owner just picked up the original 350 motor and tranny from Pat Harmon a member here. Stranger things have happened. Were are a very tight community and stick together with our Buick's . We are a lot tougher on originality than some of the Chevy , Mopar or Ford guys.

Pete, nice restoration on the car. Glad it ended up out of the shop and into someone's hands that completed it. If you perform a search on this board using the VIN number, body number, 1971 GSX Cortez Gold, or Bill Bayliss GSX (any combination), you will find several discussions about this (your) car, spanning multiple years. I think there may even be a discussion over on the BPG board (???). I do recall one discussion in which a forum member confirmed the frame number as a SMALL BLOCK frame. There was a thread (either the old BPG board or here) where a member posted numerous pictures of the car in Bill's shop... and I believe one was the frame number... There were more discussions about this car... however, some were lost with forum changes, hackings, and so on.
I believe I recently posted several links in a thread about this car a month or so ago?

I will add that if you go through the posts, Pete (who restored the car) listed his number… 802 area code.
