I know. It's really killing me to stop where I am. But it will also add a bunch of money to the project that wasn't anticipated. We've had several surprises that are pushing the budget.

No sweat Alan...hopefully I can shoot some black epoxy tomorrow. It’ll look loads better.

I found an AC heater core that came out of the parts car today. I will take both of them to the radiator guy this week to see if either of them are good. I’ll take the radiator there too. I think one of the heater cores has a small leak...but the other looks good. Crossing fingers...I don’t really want to use an aluminum core. I got lucky on the convertible and found a random brass/copper one on eBay.

Now that your a full time restorer u need to invest in a hot water machine , that is if you don’t already have one. I bought one 20 years ago and I’m on my second one. Makes degreasing jobs like this go way faster

Cool. It would be nice to have a machine that will peel the grease off a bit easier.

I painted the cowl and trunk today. Also dropped off the heater core and radiator to the radiator sho for cleaning/recore if needed. The condition of both is unknown. We are going through the cooling system with a fine tooth comb after finding the condition of the water pump and timing cover.

I dropped off the transmission to have a checkup as well. I know it moved the car around the property, but it leaked like an SOB and has unknown mileage.

How many cans to complete the trunk area and did u start with a black base coat. Does it require a clear coat ?

Black epoxy. I used the same stuff on the convertible and it is nice and dry now. I’m not sure how long it took to cure. I was actually able to do both cars with one can. Came from your favorite supplier

I found a second build sheet when I dropped the tank the other day. This one is in better shape than the other, but still a mess.

    BUQUICK I'm your huckleberry.

After it is removed and carefully cleaned I’d love to see the details of this sheet and compare them to the build sheets we found in our ‘72 that was built at the same assembly plant 1 month earlier.

And this is why you take care of your cooling system. I originally removed the engine because one of the freeze plugs had a hole in it. Well, it was 2 plugs. And all the other ones were paper thin.

On the other hand, I am working to knock out all of the engine compartment bits so they will be ready for install when the time comes...as well as organizing parts for the rest of the car.

I had the transmission rebuilt and it’s ready for pickup. I’ll be cleaning out the block cooling passages myself, but the heads will go to the machine shop for a cleanup.
