Gary, good luck brother, I know it's been a while but hope all is well and you continue to provide great input and wow, what a price..... len
Hey Len,nice to hear from you.All is well on this end, just getting older, hows everyone on your end. Yeah its a good motor at a good price, but I'm trying to put together a different deal and cash would help. Hows the racing going? gary
Changing gasket for .078 give me 11.35:1 .120 give 10.3:1 Is there any problem with a .120 gasket thickness, is it not prone failure due to more material?
We use the cometic gaskets,I've gone to .078 and not had a problem on a motor we built for someone who needed to kill some compression, but never to .120 so I don't know. gary
Gary, I finally made it home and hope to run Memorial weekend, I still need a few components and I will order parts tomorrow, fuel system, gaskets, roller rockers, and a few pieces I have not thought of yet. In your opinion Cometic or TA Orange crush Head gaskats, what rockers do you favor. If I am going to come and race with you I better bring the Grand national and leave the BBB home, thats a turbo jab. thanks for the help Mike
Mike Definately the cometics, the TA or Harlan Sharp rockers. If we're gonna bracket race bring the "hairdryer",almost like a bye. gary
Gary, Going with the Cometics and the TA Rockers. What was the 494 Bore and Stroke, I hope you remember. Remember when you hear the massive turbo whine all you see is tail lights, thanks again Mike.
Doug, thanks for asking. Just now getting back into it after a very bad last year health wise...Replacing a C-clip eliminator on the drag car, installing the 490 in the orange car and the 67 GS numbers matching will be up for sale as soon as it's back from the Paint booth. Tinkering with my cast iron Stage II. So...it's all going good this year. Wish I didn't have so many motors, I'd snatch the stroker in a New York Minuter. What a price. Good luck my friend.
