Yes converts are boxed and yes it would be the same boxed frame for a 64-65.

Ok,,,it seems the right frame sorry, I had you mixed up with somebody else....lets talk about how to get it here in January if you still have it,,,,budget is stretched too thin during Dec for obvious reasons,,,FLA is a long way from Ontario...

Ray.. sounds good to me! Here's another thought.
There are always PLENTY of Ontarionites here during the northern winter program... IF YOU know someone with say, an SUV, or van or pickup making their way here, a Uhaul aluminum trailer is light and will tow behind most vehicles without issues.
ASK AROUND.... check with relatives. Check with friends. Cellmates. Local Barber shop. If you offer some extra ca$h incentives (like perhaps $250)for them towing it back for you, it could be a very realistic alternative!

LOTS OF BAD INFO IN THIS THREAD..LOTS..

64-66 are basically the same..the convert frame is boxed...the reason the part number comes up different. a boxed frame under a hardtop is considered a heavy duty frame, not a convertible frame and is under the taxi/fleet car part numbers, but they interchange...bolt right in with no issues....

67 works too, but it has a few improvements, it has newer spring pockets in the rear and is equipped to accept a 400 turbo, that wasnt available in 64-66, but it bolts in and you have to use the 67 style rear end....

Skylarks and Lemans/GTO/Tempest are direct interchange

66-67 Cutlass will not work, in 66 the cutlass front frame horns are spread for the huge crossflow radiator the 442s used

64-5 Cutlass frames have a lot of special stuff on them for the 442, but a standard cutlass or F85 will work

Chevelle frame from 64-67 are 3 inches shorter behind the rear end, although some people modify it by cutting and welding on the rear rails out of a skylark..its not for a novice

elcaminos are boxed and are very different from the rear end back, and id have to see pics of it bolted in to say its a bolt in...ive had skylark and elcamino frames out of cars side by side and the elcamino is so different, i never even tried to check into it further...

ELCAMINOS have station wagon frames under them basically and have a diff wheel base...

also the skylark and lemans frames get cut down for chevelles also..a lot..over half of the frames i sell (a lot) go to chevelle guys and they shorten the 3 inches and stick them under chevelles

Im not an expert, but i have sold a ton of frames in the last 25 years...this is all personal experience...ive been wrong before, but im pretty confident on this..its a big part of my used parts business

Same frame. FWIW,. . .after further review of this chassis by a local GTO restorer, it has been determined the chassis is NOT BENT, but has an area where some damage occured just over the passenger side at the rear end. SUPERFICIAL...and did not tweak the chassis. nevertheless... as I mentioned in reply post #8, it has some damage but does NOT effect the usability of this frame whatsoever.

If someone has a rusted out frame and doesnt mind a couple dents that will not be seen when on the car, this one would qualify as a great candidate.
My asking price reflects that even with a few imperfections, it is still a good solid usable frame at half the price of that chassis in New England.
