It is going to need a new steering wheel, too, along with a "few" front end parts...

IF no frame damage, hood, grill, core support, radiator, front bumper, head light hardware, paint to match. What, maybe $5K in parts plus paint and labor? Looks like it's worth $9K to me as long as it's a documented Stage 1.

I wonder if there’s a ‘Hey y’all, watch this!’ story?

Owner does not have docs or papers proving anything. I thought it was the green one that’s been passed around a few times that may have came out of Canada or was at a broker some years back up that ways.

He probably got paid very well out on the insurance is my guess and has moved on to a different car or interest with the money.

Orig. Engine and/or trans. would sufficiently document it. Pretty decent deal if it's as the ad states. Sold.

Would be worth that easily IF IT is not rusty and original stage drivetrain.

No paperwork was on sure If it was an rs stamped block. Bidding war lol. Do you know what we call Illinois people here in Milwaukee DIPS......very vague person when my questions were so cut and clear.

Wouldn't this kind of damage settled through and insurance company be flagged on the title from here forward? Salvage title out in our neck of the woods would definitely affect future value to my way of thinking. Hopefully anyone spending 9.5k would do their due diligence.

You don't need documents to prove a 69 is a real Stage 1. The engine and transmission can prove it if they are original to the car.

If it already sold, who cares what it is/ was? There is a few issues that raise an eyebrow, such as the Skylark side trim. Could it have been added? yes. Funny thing is I do remember this car being for sale within the past 3-5 years, intact, as I remember the first picture. The car is LOADED, too.. PW, PB, AC, console, sport steering wheel, convertible. There are a few little issues- aftermarket stage 1 hood emblems, the 67 chromed valve cover breather... To answer the question: IF it was an RS block with VIN stamp, BB trans with VIN stamp, any paperwork (POP, BOFP, IBM card, window sticker)... Otherwise, it's questionable.

Thank you George for clarifying. Very much.
Mike Sobotka Take a look above. All I have interest is in 68/69 models. I know NOTHING about a 70-72. I couldn’t even begin to tell them apart if it’s a side shot. So I listen too or go to the 4 individuals that I highly respected in these 2 particular body styles and can spot a questionable car from a mile away.
I have no idea why my font is so large probably cause I copied and pasted your name

All i was doing is hoping that none of the Buick brothers end up with something that they were not expecting on lack of knowledge given I spoke to the individual and it it didn’t take long from pics and his story to call BS
I’d hope someone would do that for me. A stage 1 69 is on my bucket list so I watch em close
