70-72 Rear Window-Trunk Filler Panel

    Dan,
    Good one with the smileys, I liked that.

    The rear window-trunk lid outer body panel is a seperate piece that was spot-welded to the shelf area and the inner liner where the trunk hinges attach.

    I have an NOS one that I can use to make the dies. It consists of the outer body panel and the inside piece that the rear corners attach to. (It is the black painted piece on Pat's original panel, that is posted above.)

    I would leave this inner steel piece off, and reproduce the outer piece only. It would have the entire window lip included. That way you could cut off the outside piece only, and leave all the inner bracing intact. If needed you could repair the inner braces and then weld the new panel on top. It would allow you to fix everything.
