The 15X series is exactly correct and it shows it as being available in a Skylark and to correct my post above now that I see how the book works, it does give codes 154 (Sandalwood) and 158 (Black) as available only in a convertible (which corresponds to the order form) so apparently in '70 the "Standard" 12X interior wasn't available in a convertible and it came "Standard" with the 15X interior. Now it all makes sense (thanks to some reading & you explaining how the interior codes work:)).

The book also clearly shows which cars (long armrest as you noted) got the chrome backing plate but does show the short armrest with and without the chrome strip but in a 12X all have the chrome strip. There are Blue interiors available in the 10X and 11X style that have short armrests w/o the chrome strip which further leads me to believe that your 121 car got the wrong armrests from the factory.

After you take care of Adam I need one or two off a 70 bench seat if you have them.

    Dano,
Not to take over this thread, but if you are looking at the pictures in the book as references, you might be heading for trouble. You have shown the book to already be wrong with it stating the 15? series being available for a GS.

What you need to do to answer all of this is to start another thread, and ask for some pics of 1970 standard interior cars. The true answers come from looking at the parts that were actually installed on the cars, and not out of some book that was developed before the cars were actually built. Same goes with trying to use the dealership brochures as reference material, they are often wrong.

Now we need to let Adam have his thread back, as none of this pertains to him.
    Sorry Adam.

No problem, Duane. I enjoy a good education. I think I have my answers.

except that now I need the lower black plastic track covers for the same seat. Anyone have those?

    Adam,
Is this a power front bench seat?

I did say that engineering and marketing don't always communicate so I'm well aware of those pitfalls. I also corrected my statement on the 15 series interior as both the book and the order form show it as the standard interior for a convertible. As your blue car showed, even the factory did always get it correct so pics or experience with original cars is also not necessarily reliable. Sorry for interjecting into your thread Adam.
