71 buick Ok guys, update is: Looks like the new owner will be Tom (1nadrag). :TU: I don't know if anyone will 1nadrag him in this car. But anyway, Dave thanks everyone for the interest in his old car. He has done so much parts hunting and building to make this car what it is today, a solid great driving car. Congratulations Tom!! :beer Thanks, Jeff
Tom just sold his '71 GS Big Block clone late last year and it was a real beauty, to say the least. I would imagine he will have this one all decked out in the very near future and am anxiously waiting to see the progress later this year if he would be so kind as to share with us here on the board. Good going Tom. Congratulations on your new toy. :TU: Jim
Congrats Tom!!! And Thanks Jeff for offering this Bad Buick to the board members here! :TU: Please post some pics in the member rides section later on. I'd love to see a full shot out of the garage. Also, after looking at the photos 47 times in the last 36 hours..... I think it is code 61 "Sandpiper Biege" instead of "Bamboo Cream" o No: I don't know why I have such a hard-on for the earth tone buicks, especially when I own have a '72 Flame orange and '70 fire red in the garage. I guess the grass is always greener...or tanner ou:
Sold Update to everyone. Money and car have changed hands!! Tom should be cruizin in this one TONIGHT. :3gears: Jeff
Thanks Jeff and Dave. I already made a list of things to do and buy for the car. As soon as I finish the 67 skylark (in 2 weeks ) I will start on the 71.. Thanks again Tom
plans OK Tom, What are your plans for the 71 ??????? And what is on your list to order??? The guys here just gotta know!! Dave only went half way with it. The fast way that is. :Brow: Keep us posted. Jeff
I am going to replace the front seat material. Then new carpet. That will take care of the interior. Then I will fix the 2 rust spots and maybe paint the who car. 15 inch steelies with poverty caps. and maybe a GS hood. Then I will tackle the engine compartment by detailing the hell out of it and finish off the trunk in the factory splatter paint. Then new seals and that should take care of it. I did take it for a quick spin and it is FAST.
