Yes Chris, I do have a deposit on a TA block. Like I said I have this conversion chart, usually pretty close, but I do know that this combo. is basically the same as the one I blew up in 07 on Pinks in Las Vegas, and up there in over 110deg. heat it ran 9.60 dead on at 140mph. I'm OK with that, but will probably be spending some bucks on new rear suspension to try and keep the car straight...I'm sure there's alittle more in it. Gary G.
I did notice it on the Pinks All Out shows. Alittle heads up, I did the Pinks All Out in Bakersfield, CA in Sept. and I made the 32 car field, and got an interview because I was "the car that almost crashed in Las Vegas". Pretty sure the episode will aire this month, probably around Thanksgiving. I can't wait to see what makes the show. Gary G.
Yes Chris, we do. Oliver's GSX, my GS and Dave's Apollo all currently running. A historical moment in time. I wish I had some good pics or video clips to go with the stats. Seems the photographer is either napping or snaps the shot too soon when a new set of tires sends the nose skyward at an uncomforable angle.
Where this is about time and speed. We run a 425 in the dragster. Relatively stock setup= a lot of valve float. The fuel is injected methanol/nitro about 40-60% average run. Car noses over at 5200 rpm = about 500' off the line. 1.09 ---60ft 3.11 ---330ft 4.98 ---1/8ET 135 ---1/8MPH 9.19 ---1/4ET 139 ---1/4MPH Car and driver 1326 lbs. New setup to be run in October Don Hampton 6-71 blown nitro(50-90%) 407 cu.in Nailhead built to the limit to handle the application. Along with a very good set of heads loaded with chevy parts .
Ran my new best with current combination at the Pinks All Out over the weekend, 9.44 @ 141, 1.38 60ft., 5.99@114 in the 1/8th. But I think my converter is having a problem.... Gary G.
Just curious, do any of you guys drive these cars on the street? Even if its just to the burger joint.
