For those doing a mild rebuild. The sealed power Hyper pistons are a pretty good price on Rockauto. Only 8.4 compression but a lot better than the stock soup cans. Deck the block.030 and mill the heads .020 and you are right at 9.75 for the iron heads. .030 off the aluminum heads and you are around 10.2. The 75-76 Oddfire V6 rods are like the later 350 capscrew rods but the right length for the 300.

Intake converted to a single plane for fuel injection once in vehicle. 351 cubic inches of fire breathing Buick fury. Can't wait to get it back in my truck!

Sean, did you use their 1.215 compression height LS stroker piston? Did you use larger valves in the 64 300 heads? Do you plan to dyno?

Not sure what piston my machinist used. He said it would end up about 9.5:1. We did not go with the bigger valves. Wasn't looking to get huge power out it. More torque than anything and the less weight of the aluminum heads and intake. It's going in my '91 Toyota pick-up to replace the iron '65 I had in it. Of course the simple engine build turned into a complete frame off restoration.

You don't use them. Same when using 300 heads on a 215. Weird the TA heads would have them when Rover didn't.
