Busy day today. Car is mostly polished so was invited to come help. Point form, I'm tired: 1) Fenders off, emblems on, wheelhouses on. 2) Wiring run and e-brake front cable installed, couple other little items. 3) Fenders back on, rough alignment. Car lowered off jackstands onto wheels, final alignment of fenders to doors. 4) Other stuff installed, hinges on, hood test fit again to confirm, very nice. 5) Hood stays behind for final work. Trunklid and quarter extensions hopefully polished by the time I pick it up tomorrow. 6) Need to get it home asap for electrical, carpet, interior, top system install, header vinyl, w/s interior bits, trim, bumpers, fuel tank, cleanup, etc. Hood can stay off anyway as need to fire engine, stuff like that. 7) Hard to take pics as in booth, limited room, odd lighting (ie form everywhere!) but I tried. Better pics once out of shop, with fenders! 8) Repro quarter not an issue. Looks good, line "rolls" like it should, tried to get pics but better ones later. perhaps not quite as pronounced as OEM, but looks good. Can't wait to see this thing in the sun!! later Tim
..THAT SHINE/REFLECTION LOOKS SWEET OFF THAT 1/4 PANEL WHEEL WELL... :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU: Dont rush it now...take your sweet time...you have come a long way..... :beer its gonna look BOSS with the white on & in it :Smarty:
Looks great! Correct me if I'm wrong but, isn't this the car that was found sitting somewhere that had had a fire under the dash? I seem to remember it from before the v8buick days (Georges email list).
Looking good Tim. You sure have put a lot of work into her, seam like you've been on a roll lately. Good luck on the assembly. Can't wait to read more about it. I'm glad that you see no issues with the Tabco quarters. I keep hearing mixed messages.....but from what I've been researching, they're the best quarter skin reproductions that we can use on the 70-72 GS cars. Thank you for posting all your hard work. Lon
Project Orange Looking great Tim - keep the progress reports comming, they bring back fond memories ! :beer :TU:
Well they take some work but looks better than I figured it would. The casual non-anal observer would never notice! There are some things that need to be addressed with it, but easy to do. NOS would have been better of course but couldn't find one and would have to cut up the hardtop version anyway so save em for the guys who can really use them. More pics later. later Tim
Right on Tim! That thing looks Killer! :TU: Did Degreeves help you out with the Conv. Top parts you were looking for? Keep posting the pics on your progress. :3gears: :beer
Quick update: Car is home, minus hood. Thats ok we can start assembly. Show is one month away and I'm a working stiff so I doubt I'm gonna make it but I will keep plugging unless things go bad. Still waiting for top parts and some other stuff. Might do some more tweaking of doors and fenders yet, its very good but I'm never satisfied. Saw this color in the sun today for the first time. WOW! Its a muted orange with almost gold highlights and the body lines look excellent in the natural light. I was worridd they might have been washed out a bit with all the block sanding but they look great. Its an excellent color. later Tim
Nice work keep the photo's coming. This part of the restoration is what I like best........... putting it all back together. It's very rewarding!

Tim- All I can say is.... WOW! That looks fantastic! With all the hard work you've put in up to this point, I'll bet you can't stop smiling! Thanks for the pics. JOB WELL DONE (well, almost done) :TU:
