I don't know if it's good or bad to have 3 cars, but I have 2 that way (even worse), but thank goodness I have one that's together that I can play with. It's been apart every summer for the last 6. Not this year.

You need to just hard block that heap up to the deck and not bother with coolant. It has bigger cracks than Oprah's ever seen in the mirror bent over .........

I've thought about pulling the engine and "stitching" the block..

But that would involve pulling the engine and "stitching" the block.

It's no engine in the floor or last minute tranny thrash, but...

..after an all night orgy ending around 5am this morning, I guess the cherry has been popped on the virgin rubber in the Yellow Submarine...

As soon as I heard the banjo music in the background, I knew it was going to be bad.

    Not quite that bad

I just had a c4 valve body sent next day air...I'm paying someone to put it in tomorrow :Dou: .

    The hood is still off.

Also have a few interior components that aren't installed yet (glove box door, etc.). Fortunately my paint and body skills are poor enough that I'm sure no magazine shots will be in order anyway.

I'm still trying to figure out if I'm going to get Friday off or not. If I don't, there may be a guest driver for my heap temporarily.

The good news is that it seems pretty quick in 1st and 2nd gears and the valve-train has not self-destructed yet, so I'm ahead of where I was on the last engine. :beer

Well, I was ready, now the seats are out, steering wheel is off, and tryinf to figure out some strange wiring under the dash that's keeping the rev limiter and tach from working. I don't fit in the floor boards anymore with out the seats out. Now I can't see anything unless I turn my bifocals upside down. Good news is I did get it runnng again. Wasn't last night and this morning with no spark. I hate wires that start as red, then go behind something and come out white. Very strange. :puzzled: :puzzled:

The new driveshaft rubs the right exhaust pipe and the new rear yoke hits

    the pinion snubber bracket.

Employ the clearancing plan tonight and change oil, coolant and give it a

    good once over.

At least it all sounds easy...... :Dou:

Just cancelled my room at the Holiday Inn for tomorrow night, looks like a late one tomorrow and an early morning run to the track Friday. Still finding wires twisted together that don't make sense. May have the dash totally out tomorrow. Might be easier to just finish one of the other cars! :bglasses:

At least somebody is making progress . Parked my X in October 2004 , took bumpers off sent to chrome shop , got them back ,they looked like ----- , so with that said the car has not been moved since then . Only been started One time . I hopoe to get back in the mood by next week to do some work on it . Every time I go to shop and look at it just sitting there I get depressed and go back to house . Am going to Cruisin the Coast in October so need to get started with getting it ready and hope no hurricanes this year.

    Well.........

The driveshaft and pinion snubber clearance plan worked.

    The oil change didn't

Seems the drain plug that has been showing it's ass....some of you might
remember me wiping before a run.....the oil pan!

Anyway it would not stop leaking no matter what......found a crack in the pan and my latest attempts to improve the plug seal had made the crack worse. so now it drains oil. :Dou:

Taking some time off to tilt the car....clean the plug and crack....and epoxy the whole damn mess shut! load the car and fill the oil tommorrow morning.

We only race twice a year....so i'll worry about changing the oil again later. :pp
