Hey guys. I just bought a car, (not a Buick), but I think it had Buick wheels on it, at least that's what a few people have told me. I figure you guys can tell me exactly what they're off of and how much you think they're worth. I plan on putting them on Craigslist, but wanted to properly state what they are. Anyway, take a look at the pics and tell me what you think. Thanks, in advance.

They certainly do look like Buick rally wheels - are they 14x6 or 15x7? That will make a big difference in value.

Yes....they are Buick.....but the less desireable 14" rims......

Worth ?........a couple hundred or maybe more to the right guy.

I haven't actually measured them, but I'd assume they're 14x6 since they have 205/75/14 tires on them.

If they are 14x6 then I would say they are probably worth around $200, perhaps a little more if the tires are good. I sold a 14x6 set off my '72 for around $120 or so with worn tires.

Ok, thanks. Would you happen to know what year range this style of wheels were used?

Buick used that style for many years - do a search on the board for 14x6 Buick rallys and I'm sure you can find more info - or someone else could probably give you more exact info. On the inner side of the wheel, you can find some info stamped - the size and a code which would help you find out more.

A 68 Tempest. This pic is the day I bought it, still having the Buick wheels on it.

That's a real nice looking Tempest - are you keeping it stock or going to a GTO clone?

I'm keeping it stock. It still has the original OHC6 engine in it. I actually went to look at a GTO that was in pretty bad shape when the guy said he had another car a may be interested in.

    Is that the "Sprint 6"?

No. It's just got the one barrel carb, not the four.

Do you go to any shows on the Island?

I don't go to many shows - did attend the annual all Buick show last month. I do go to some cruise nights - don't know where on the island you are located (Suffolk or Nassau) but there is Tuesday night at Bald Hill, Thursday night at the Wendy's shopping center in Oakdale, Saturday night on main street in Smithtown, and a bunch more all scattered around.

Yeah, I meant cruise nights. I was at Smithtown last night. Really nice showing. I was actually looking for a Buick to compare my rims. Finally found one GS with similar rims. I also go to Kings Park on Thursdays.

I guess you live East of me.

I will be getting down to the Smithtown cruise one of these Saturday nights. I heard the Kings Park cruise was a good one as well.

Buick used these wheel from 65=87 the newer ones have more offset to clear the tie rods on newer 78 and newer mid size buicks it it has about a 1" space where the rim meets the middle its the newer regal style ( most likley ) the early rims are usually long gone or rusty now the look good mind you

Although this style wheel was used as far back as 1965, the centers were changed starting in 1971. Your wheels have the 1971 and later centers. Back spacing on wheels 1971-1977 will be about 4 3/8". Back spacing on wheels 1978-1987 will be about 3 7/8".
