Congratulations to Jenna. She managed to put two of the fastest Buicks on the trailer with her 1971 Skylark 455 running high 12's. Sometimes being the slower car is a huge advantage. The faster car has to chase you and not break out. Not so easy. In the semi finals, Will Lanier's 9 second 70, and then Dan Chait's 8 second car. Watch Dan lock up the brakes at the end.
Well I’m glad you asked John. I did have a few issues. 1. Fred does not put the toilet seat down in the hotel! 2. Fred does not make sure the POS shower knob is in the down position when he’s finished taking a shower! Twice I got sprayed with ice cold water when I went to take my shower! 3. Beer… Do you know how hard it is to buy beer in Pennsylvania? It’s almost impossible. I drove around the Walmart parking lot looking for a guy that had a beer belly so I could ask him where the heck can you buy some dang beer! Believe it or not, the basket man, yes a fully grown man collecting baskets for Walmart, told me about a grocery store down the street. Boy is there a story there. I walked in this grocery store thinking, they’re not going to have any beer, and if I find some it’s going to be warm. That’s just how Pennsylvania works. Lo and behold I found the beer aisle. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that it was actually being refrigerated. I found my beer, and then I noticed a sign at a special cash register right in the beer isle. The sign said, Purchase all alcoholic beverages here. Can you imagine standing in a line with other people, a special line, so you look like a pariah in the store, just to buy beer. I had the guy in front of me cracking up with things I was saying. Now I do realize that one should not complain, or bring up issues unless they have possible answers to rectify the situation. Issue #1. There is no way to resolve this problem. I’m sure Fred is way beyond retraining. Yes I am laughing my butt off as I write this. Fred, love you buddy! Issue #2. Please refer to answer number 1 above. Issue #3. I realize that sometimes one has to take responsibility for issues in their life. After driving around the parking lot of Walmart looking for a man with a beer belly I realized my problem. I did not bring enough ice cold beer with me from Virginia. Next year I will make sure that I have an adequate supply when I leave the house.
Congrats to Jenna I used to drive the dragsters nuts in my 12 sec SunCoupe running Super Pro. They accused me of cheating....haha....they were the ones with the delay/cheater boxes. Qualified for bracket finals then brought out BQUICK to run and lost 1st round. Should have stayed with slow(er) car.... The track last weekend was great...never turned a tire all weekend....10+ runs....better bite than last year.
What, you all thought I was finished? Believe me, I was on my best behavior the entire time I was there. So many things I wanted to write, but this is not my thread. Suggestions… I only have one suggestion. Next year I’m going to get off my butt and volunteer to help. I don’t know what to do but if you tell me what to do I will do it. To be honest, a few times I was actually bored, especially in the morning. Just sitting there. It was very nice talking to everyone, but I’m not one to just sit. I hate inside, and I hate doing nothing! That’s just the way I am. So next year, I John Carroll, do solemnly swear, that I will volunteer for anything that is needed. I will be there next year!

Oh it’s got real good brakes on it Patrick! Four-way disc brakes, and no red brake light on in the dashboard. It has ice cold air also. That shimmy is terrible. I was watching YouTube videos about the front end this morning. I’m a genius now
I know I am untrainable, but in my defense I put the seat down when there are women around. So makes me wonder John. #2 I always turn the shower on and get it to temp before I step in. No surprises then. I think I will turn the shower to full cold when I get out next year.. We'll find out if John is trainable.
Hey John,looked like a great event, so sorry at the last minute we weren't able to make it. You said no cancellation fee, when I cancelled our reservations they said they would still charge my credit card,I argued and went to management, they said there was nothing they could do, I have to pay for the room even though I wasnt' there.
Track camping is free. He also has showers that were just installed this year. I hears from some ladies that used them and they were nice and clean.
That is very strange. Never heard of that unless not before 24 hours notice. I know some guys canceled last week and earlier this week. Neither mentioned any issue.
They told me the same thing when I canceled. The woman said I would have to pay for at least the first night because they have a 30 day cancellation policy. I canceled 5 days in advance. Sorry I couldn't make it. Looks like a great time was had by all.
Same with me, I talked to PR at corporate too and they said its a personal hotel decision. What BS. I was a couple days in advance too.
I can honestly that was the best weekend I’ve had racing. 4 different races in 3 days, plus some test passes, great friends , family , food and an awesome track. Hats off to John jr for all the hard work putting this together, he did an amazing job. Thank you to all the sponsors, the track and the entire Csordas family for making these events continue to happen. Marco, it was nice to meet you, and I’m glad I was able to help you out. Congrats to Jenna, on her win, she kicked my butt. Well deserved. It was great to see everyone, wish I had more time to walk around and talk. Looking forward to next time!!
