I shake my head sometimes reading all the "advice" that people give on there. If you don't know, don't just talk out of another orifice.
That adventure has not begun yet. Jason leaves for Florida on the 5th. Lots of people on Facebook talk out of another orifice. What else is new?
Misinformation is all over the net, it's not just limited to factbook! Matter of fact I've even seen misinformation given out here! Personally I don't open my mouth unless I know that I know I'm correct, and many other people should do the same. Keith
And then of course there's Scott who's in a class by himself on there. Shame the literal & figurative politics drove so many away from here and over to there.
Ya, I love it when I read that I said something, or did or did not do something, and it's 100% backward.. just happened here a few weeks ago. But it's true, there is bad info out there everywhere... most of it is from good intentioned folks who simply misunderstand something they read somewhere else. That's probably 90% of it.. The rest of it is folks with limited knowledge or experience, that make "what happened to them" or "how it worked for me" into gospel. Most of those guys also mean well, but they don't have the depth of experience to really offer solid advice. The best thing about boards like this is that if you question something you read here, or somewhere else.. you can bring it up in the form of a question, and eventually with enough input from the group, you can get solid answers. And most of the stuff that you are curious about, can be found with a search... after nearly 20 years here, there is not much we have not discussed, although things do change over time.. The "hot tip" 15 years ago might be a recipe for disaster today. That is why you will never see me reply to a question with "look it up".. even if you should.. parts evolve, or sometimes devolve, new stuff becomes available, old stuff is discontinued... so it's always good to check, and ask if your unsure. I'm sure I've misquoted you more than once. Never intentionally though. I'm getting old(my wife says so)
I hate reading the comments. Seems like 90% of the answers are people taking stabs in the dark. Some can't even read the question right (I might be guilty of that on occasion) I never claimed I was entirely literate.
I just wish they would use the king's English... I'm a gonna sale it. Two, too, to. etc. My 4th grade English teacher would roll in her grave. Poor Mrs. Rinehart.
Yeah and punctuation too. I hate run on sentences, gives me a headache. Do these people talk like that?
Well Brad I would settle for the Prince's English or maybe 8th grade English. The comments are crazy....A few weeks ago I was reading a thread where a guy parked his car overnight and it wouldn't turn over in the AM. He was concerned it was locked up???? The thread went on and on about trying to turn the motor and compression tests, etc. About 12 comments down someone finally asked if he had checked his battery or starter? :_) All the time I'm shocked how many people fail to follow any linear thinking on issues. Rear tail lights don't blink, start by tearing apart the steering column...
Common sense is gone, and nobody reads anymore, they just go to the internet and ask and can't spell their vs there. Duh!
I just had to argue with a FoRd guy at the track today. He was trying to tell me 455 Buick was the heaviest of the big blocks and that was why my Jaguar was nose heavy.
