    For those who wonder

I guess this story fits in a drag race thread.....the readers digest version...

Many moons ago while hanging out off a local road.....

Some kid was talking smack about his '68 Firebird.

Jeff told him politely "Don't make me get the 2v" referring to his 350 2V '69 Custom S with a whopping peg leg 2.56 gear.

And don't bother asking it wasn't on hose.

Anyway, a race was set up on another road...I flagged them and Jeff trounced the guy round one. The kid wanted to go for two double or nothing.

Against both Jeff and my better judgment, they lined up again.

I flagged 'em, they took off with a clean start......and while I was still in the middle of the road the local Police went blowin' by me at WOT in pursuit.

Well we ran for our cars and beat a hasty retreat. Meanwhile the mutual friend who was blocking the next road inlet saw Jeff just flat high tailing it by with no sign of letting off!

In pulled the PD behind the kid as another cruiser shot by in pursuit.

Well we re-grouped and wondered if Jeff made it.

I said "If he made it his car is stashed behind my garage"

Sure enough as we all pulled in to my house....here comes Jeff out from behind the garage.

He never did get his money....but it could have been worse.

Oh yea count me in for Martin! :TU:

You can find the F/S rules here: http://www.fastraces.org/fsrules.htm

In F/S, we run a quick 8 with a sportsman ladder, (1 vs. 5, 2 vs. 6, etc.) and everyone else runs a best of 3 shoot-out against there closest competitor.

I hope you can make it! :beer

Is there something we can sign(waver) to get Martin to leave us, and our
    hubcaps/trim rings alone???
Very ugly cars/wheels with no caps/rings

    Brian and Jeff,

That was a great story!

It brings back memories. I had a Gold w/blacK vinyl topped '69 LeMans with the same driveline. Heck my Custom S had the same 2V pegleg 2.56 combination as well, originally. I used to race my buddy's '71 Luxury Lemans and he'd usually win because he had 3.23's. We were flippin' air cleaner lids, disconnecting vacuum advances, etc.

I second that motion. If at all possible, could the caps and trim rings stay on the cars? Can YearOne throw their weight around on that one?
