I found out I have cancer last week. Not sure the type yet. That is still under determination by the pathologists. But it is cancer for certain. I have a mass near my bowel. Some spots on my liver and some enlarged lymph nodes. I am asking for prayers from others. Thanks in advance. I trust God, accept Christ as my savior and believe in the power of prayer.

I'm 43, married 16+ years and have 2 nine year old boys.

    Bob-

Reading your note was like a kick in the gut. I'm generally not the praying type, but I said one for you all the same. Here's hoping he listens to those of us that don't talk to him all that often.

Bob - You can be certain, that I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

As you posted above, I firmly believe that is the answer!! There is NO problem that we might run into, that is too great for the Lord!!:TU:

    Acts 3:16

By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see.

A favorite passage I've heard often,

    James 5
13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

You will certainly be in my prayers, Bob. I hope you can beat this. If you caught it early, your chances for that happenning are very good.

Having just gone through this with my wife, I can relate to an extent I think. As with the others, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I have two daughters myself.

If you need anything, put the word out; people will be there to help.

    Update

I found out today I have either colon or bowel cancer. They are still not 100% certain. I am in stage 4 (there are only 4 stages). But, I do believe that with your prayers and God's mercy I will beat this for my family's sake.

Thank you so much for your prayers and inspirational words. They mean so very much to me.

I'm going to the Mayo for a second opinion on treatment on 2-3-2004. Then, hopefully, we start the fight!

Take care and may God bless each and every one of you.

    GSXMEN Got Jesus?

Bob - My first year at college ('85), I was at Liberty University, down in Lynchburg, VA. One of the Deans had developed cancer of the throat...he was VERY hoarse...sounded like a raspy whisper, even with a mike.

Anyways....Dr. Falwell got the entire student body and the local community involved in a round-the-clock, 24hrs. of steady prayer for this dean. Each floor of every dorm (28 at that time) selected a 1/2 hr. slot to go up to the prayer chapel to specificially pray for him. My floor got one of those hours that's only supposed to happen ONCE a day (2 or 3am)!!:Brow:  There sure were alot a 'sleepy heads' making their way to and from that little chapel that morning. Oddly enough...we didn't seem to mind...it sure was for a good cause!!:TU: :TU:

    This is the cool part!!:bglasses:

VERY soon after that 24hr. period, this Dean got checked up by the doctor....the cancer had GONE AWAY!!!! :bglasses:  :TU: His voice started getting stronger....and in no time he was back to his vocal self!!!:TU: :TU:

It gives you goosebumps to have been a small part of something like that!! Bottom line is....God DOES answer prayer!!!:Smarty: :TU:
