Hi Gary, I talked to Dennis (DME) and he has another set of shift rods for the
    65 Skylark GS shifter/BW T10 trans.

    Thanks Ted.

The main thing i'm trying to find out is what is the correct shifter handle and knob for...

    (1) 65 GS lark 4spd no console

    (2) 65 GS lark 4spd with console

I believe they would be different but have no pictures or measurements.
I've seen two that had different lengths and bend angles but i don't know if they were correct either.

My plan is to go with just a boot and no console but i may change my mind later so i'm trying to find out about both options. I have all the other correct pieces for the 4spd conversion except for the BWT10-1B trans, pilot bushing and the shifter.

I can take some pix of the trans/ shifter I got from Dennis...
He has the parts to make another W T-10 as well- :eek2:

Gary, to the best of my knowledge, all the shifter handles were the same for bucket/bench/console/no console 65-66 GS's.
The shift pattern was engraved on the ball for non-console cars.
Shifter boots did vary. We believe there was a early-65 boot that differed from later versions.

Think I'll throw a little real info out here. Google up "Old car manual project 64 special". Click on transmissions. You'll find detail of shifter linkage on the second page, right down to the reverse light switch , and brackets. Page three has exploded view of the T-10. I've got one laying on the garage floor now. Have had it for over 20 years, both my sons and my daughter occasionally tried to kill it when I had it in a 65 El Camino behind a 350 Chevy. But it's still unhurt other than being a little leaky. It was originally in a 64 Special wagon. I still have the shifter bump out cut from the floor and the 4 speed chrome trim panel that went atop a small plastic consolette. I tried to save that plastic piece, but it was so fragile you could crack it just by looking at it wrong. So I tossed it. Wish I hadn't. Have never seen another. Anyway this should answer some questions. The shift ball is black, no pattern. Pattern's on the trim plate. There is no reverse lock out. Shifter bears strong strong resemblance to early Hurst. The non treaded rods that clamp with a tapper resemble the GM style used on most columm shift automatic rods. Latter. Bill V. Pnx. Az.

    Hi Bill,

Thanks for the info. Do you think you could shoot me some pics of your pieces.

Are you going to sell your 4spd stuff?

    Thank you,
    Gary

Thanks Joe, i appreciate the lead.
I have already picked up pedals when i went down to see 65GSDOUG in Deleware...remember i said i would try to drop in but i didn't get a chance.

On the way back i hit a deer on the interstate just before Buffalo.
It came out of nowhere and a big rig was about 5 car lengths behind me while going about 120km with cruise on. Scared the hell out of me...but at least i came back with a full 4speed setup minus the trans and shifter.

Thanks again Joe and congrats on your speeds at the track...nice job.

    Cheers,
    Gary

Ya i wish i would have went down by myself i would have had more of a chance to come. I took my girl friend with me and made it a little harder.

I'm fine just damaged the front corner of my mini van (Montana). Hood, fender and side door all got pretty good damage.
I've already picked up all three parts from another guy who was parting one out. Perfect pieces just have to paint them and bolt them on...$175 for all three pieces...can you imagine what a body shop would have charged...$$$$$$$$.

Cheers Joe, maybe i'll get another chance to come down.
