Fuel sender hitting trunk floor?

I installed a GM34B tank and fuel.semder that I bought (I think from Stage Won). I also bought the rubber matt that goes on top of the gas tank. When I install the tank so there is no play in the mounting straps, the larger fuel line is pressed up against the trunk floor. I would need to bend I'd down slightly to get the rubber hose on it. The smaller return line is not hitting.

Plus, the sender unit is offset at a slight angle to the passenger side. It's the only way it would fit in the slots.

Did I install it wrong or us this common with these after market parts? And just have to bend the lines or should I lower the tank somehow?

I forgot to take a pic before I installed it....

Not a pretty or maybe permanent solution, but you could try putting some thick rubber bushings in between the tank and floor to space the tank down a bit? I would try and use enough to spread the load somewhat evenly.

I just put an EFI tank in but decided to install a fuel door at the same time so I never have to drop the damn thing again!

I have his pump, sending unit/ pick up and 1/2” feed line on my ‘71 GS, I didn’t have any issues.

I put an access door in mine also. I can't imagine how many tanks I've dropped in my life to replace the fuel pump. I swear that people had the tow truck driver stop at the gas station to fill it up before dropping it off at our shop!
