73 ? Pat I had one that looked NOS and had the emblem had to practially give it away here . It took 6 months to sell it .
70 GSCA grilles Not all of us have been quick to jump on the 70 GS grilles because the parts are not painted , they are a little rough around the edges from the one I saw at BG . No trim parts and no studs . I might be the only person that doesnt want to pay over 600 for a repo thats not ready to install . But I doubt it . I might have to do it but I would rather wait for TPP to do it from the glowing praise given on their 71 . ALso hasn't the GSCA sold all theirs except about 20 grilles ?
Just for the record - I have a '69, but I would purchase a whole '68 grille if it was a choice between that and a big gaping hole in the front of my car... -Bob Cunningham
John, I know what you mean.I didn't have the funds or I'd have gotten it but I have a good set of grilles and a spare lower grille for my 73.I just wish interiors and patch panels were more readily available.I have a NOS 70 GS grille and a spare one too so I think that the 67's would be the most logical since 70-72 can be found more readily.I just want interior stuff for 73's. Pat
I have to admit after I voted I should have went with you guy's on the 69 and earlier models. Since the 70' GS grille does come up for sale every now and then. So even though I voted 70 because I do more 70 GS's, I'm going to switch my vote and say give the other guy's there day . "Just reproduce them all and I bet you wouldn't be dissapointed".
Here we go gang. Another one just made ebay. I wonder where this one will end up. Looks decent to me. Switch the emblem and your golden. I'll be "watching" for sure. HATE to put one in the racecar but it needs one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7984453853&category=33645
George, you're restoring exactly the right cars. It's just hard. Hard is good. Phizer is making all their money on that principle. Someday parts will come for the "mid years".
I'm on your side and I don't even own one! I voted for '67. Seems like the '70 GS owner's already have plenty of options. Being a Riviera owner, I know what it is like not to be able to find parts!
well thats what happens when people start getting greedy and selfish, theres companies that make and sell the 70 GS grille,so why make another one?thats why the early GS`s will never get ahead in parts availability and in value. Thanks
Sorry for my language but you know what guys screw the polls and voting,a fellow member and i have been talking about this and he`s stepped up to the plate on reproe`ing the `67 GS Grille his name Frank and is a V8 Board member (BUICFRANK) he is taking 100 orders with deposits at this time so PM him and lets get this rollin,if we dont do it this way we`ll never get out of the `70`shadow cause i`m personally sick of being stepped on with the `67 parts so lets get it on. Thanks
Basically if you look at the polls so far the NEXT TWO GRILLES to be made would be the 70 and 67. Keep in mind the poll is just to get a feel of the market, it in no way decides exactly which grille will come out next. I'm sure that once more feedback gets posted on our reproduction 71 grille, more and more people are going to want their grille to be from us, no mater which year car they have. Lets see where this poll goes, as the 70 and 67 are very close in the running...
theres aloooooooooot of people out there who own `67s that are not even part of any buick group so its not only the people on this board, once they hear through word of mouth that the parts place is reproducing a `67 grille there would obviously be more orders than the people on this board only. Thanks
The tooling has been started for our 70 grille :TU: , introductory price is $399 if preordered. If you guys want a quality injection molded part that will be painted and come with the correct studs start placing your orders today. It is going to be about 10-12 weeks before they come in. Hopefully by the end of 2006 our plans of having the complete line of plastic GS grilles will available. We shipped out over 50, 71 GS grilles last week and only one got damaged, pretty good odds, huh? We have heard nothing but good things about that grille so far.
Thank you PPI Could you elaborate on what placing your order today means? Meaning an email, a credit card number given but not run through until delivery, a credit card run through and charged now ,etc? Until when can we get the 399 price? How much is shipping ( a range based on the 71 will do)? Can you say how many will be in the first run? Could you comment on the 67 grille time frame as we know our 67 brothers will want to know.
Another 70 GS owner who voted for the 67 grille. I too, do not own one but feel for the 67 guys since parts aren't catered for them. I am glad to hear that a run of 70 GS grilles is in process at a very attractive price!
Come on Mike, you know we need more details than that... I can't believe there would be 3 different 70 repros in the very near future. uzzled:
