    Hi Buick enthusiasts,

Just a post to guage any interest for another get-together on August 24th at White Rock, B.C., for the West Coasters' show. This is a favourite event, amongst car buffs, to be at. It'd be nice to, once again, have a good Buick contingent attend, as we did at the recent BOPC show in Langley. Please check the site for Buick Events and Clubs, Other Buick Events, Buick Gathering at BOPC, Langley, B.C., for some great pictures taken at this event. If you know of other Buick owners out there, tell them to get their rear ends ( posi or non-posi ) in gear, and come out to meet us.
I'll be at the Sechelt, B.C. 13th Annual Sleepy Hollow Run on August 8,9,10. Promises to be a great event : drag racing on Sunday at the local airport, Friday night cruise, and Saturday show. I'll bring the '71 GS455. Car is all stock. but didn't seem to have a problem putting some distance on a local red '66-'67 Corvette. The '71 isn't quite as fast as my ol' 72 GS, presently owned by Paul P., but still causes a stir in our liittle town of Squamish.
As far as upcoming race dates in Ashcroft, only Sept. and Oct. available. Gurtz S. raced July 12th in Bremerton, driving Gene F.'s GN, and took home some cash, and a trophy. Way to go Gurtz!
Please reply to this post if you're at all interested in participating on August 24th.

    Take care,

    Nando.

    Hi Graham,

Saturday, Sept. 13 and Saturday, Oct. 4, sound like the tentative dates for racing at Ashcroft. Would be great to meet you before then, on Aug. 24th!

    Keep in touch,

    Nando.

    Hi all,

Had a terrific weekend in Sechelt for the Coaster's !3th Annual Sleepy Hollow Run. Friday night's cruise had 215 cars drive from Sechelt to Half Moon Bay and back. Saturday's show had 315 specialty vehicles in downtown Sechelt, and Sunday's racing at the local airport was a blast!
Too bad, very few of the show cars participated in Sunday's drags. It's usually, " Well, I don't think I can take a chance of breaking." I think I drive harder on the street, than I do on the track.
Chris S. of Victoria : Marshall Greenwell says" hello". He's racing a 1992 Mustang in Stock Eliminator. He was the tech inspector at the track, and I hadn't seen him for 15 years.
Looking forward to meeting once, again, on August 24th.

    Take care,

    Nando.

    Hi all,

Just a reminder of an upcoming Buick get together in Ashcroft, B.C. on September 13th, for a fun day of drag racing. Why not come up, even if you plan to just watch. Would be nice to have some quality digital photos to post on the forum. I'll begin a new thread this week pertaining to any details about this event.
Our local car club, here in Squamish, will be co-hosting a car,and custom bike show, to be held at the Squamish Adventure Centre on September 14th . More details to follow.

    Take care,

    Nando.

    Hi all,

Doesn't seem like our proposed Buick get-together for racing at Ashcroft this Saturday, September 13th, will be happening. Some of the racers have their cars under modification, and plan to run later in October for the season-ender at Ashcroft. I don't have to prepare, as I want to run the GS as-is. I did have the foresight to have some sticky BFG Drag Radials mounted last week. I plan to be visiting my friend, who lives about 1.25 hours away from the track. I may decide to race Saturday morning, for time trials, only, since I have to get back to Squamish, that evening, as our club will be co-hosting a show and shine on Sunday.

Take care, and keep in touch,

    Nando.

    Hey Nando;
Do you have the details for the Squamish show yet? I'm thinking about coming up for a couple of hours. Let me know.

    Hi Doug,

I've already started a new thread in:" Other Buick Events... Rumble to the Rock II...", which should have all the particulars regarding the show and shine. I'll be heading to Falkland today, hopefully, without any major drama during the drive.
The weekend looks to be very convertible-friendly. I'll be helping set up for the show on Sunday morning. I may be able to sneak a couple of runs in at Ashcroft, before returning back to Squamish, Saturday night.
Looking forward to seeing you at the show!

    Nando.
