  2. In and effort to reduce the spam on the site, several years ago I had went to a program where I manually approve each and every new registration. This approval gives you full access to the site, to pictures, and to post, among other things. To be able to enjoy the full potential of the board for you, you need to be fully registered.. and that's easy.. Just send an email to me at jim@trishieldperformance.com and I will verify your registration. This policy will remain in effect indefinitely, as it has completely eliminated the bad actors from our site, who would spam and hack it, once they gained access. Thanks JW

I've heard of him, I've met him, a couple of years ago he was announcing at the GS Nationals. Very scary! RV

Scary indeed! A real upstanding kinda guy........ I hope he wasn't in charge of any kind of funds for the GSCA. They oughta let his buddies beat him to death with plastic bats......takes a little longer.

From the old GSCA board and reading thru old GSX-tras, I remember he was/is a V6 hairdryer guy and not a BBB fellow. Remember a write up on his GN within recent years. Very sad indeed. Stuff like that always catches up with one.

I liked him. I was in the tower doing some p.a. announcing alongside him a couple of years ago. Struck me as a very nice guy. I believe he did the newsletter for his chapter up there because I think he was asking Rick M. for tips on writing it. I don't remember seeing him in BG this year, so he probably didn't come. I guess ya never know!! :Do No:

That is a huge surprise I knew Gunther through e-mails and met him at the Nats some years back, seemed like a good guy. I guess you can never know, I would like to think he just ran into hard times that it wasn't an intentful cold act.

What I find real odd is that on the GSCA Board the post regarding this topic was pulled. I wonder why????? There was nothing slanderous or bad, it was just stating what had happened and that he was the PR guy for the Nats. :Do No: hmmm

  10. Probably because it "could" make that organization possibly look bad, since some people will assume the worst scenario.

Rick, you are spreading untrue information. The thread is still there. Stop it now before you get another postcard or letter from some anonymous person.

Good point Dave. Gunther had no money connection with the GSCA Club then a short 2 liner would be good enough to state the club funds were safe etc etc. then the issue is dead. I just thought it would be better to be open than to bury it .

The best of my knowledge with Gunther, was a few years back a family member was extremely ill and soon after past on. This was told to me first hand via land line with Gunther. I had a few conversations post 911 and he sounded OK. Who knows sometimes with the stress of life and when things look real bad, people sometimes become desperate, the temptation may be too great and the money may have been taken at first with intents to put it back later, but like a drug addiction it never is and it just keeps getting worse. I'm not defending his actions as they were wrong, but from the report he is paying restitution. It's just a plain damn shame that a good person can easily take that wrong path in the crossroads of life.

As with the Nats or GSCA I would venture to say that Gunther never handled any funds. I would figure with Bennett being the the top guy there he would have a tight handle on things.
