Ya, that is one of mine Al... Brand new TA cover, TA ARP fasteners on that one, it looks like the the bolt holes in face of the timing cover were not square with the mounting flange.. or there was an issue with the bolt head... so a gasket had to be installed on the bolt to keep oil from wicking up the bolt and leaking, as it got by the bolt head/timing cover contact area. Copper washer and some sealant is an easy fix.

And no matter how long I run new motors here and on the dyno, they never seem to leak until the customer installs them and drives them around for a while.

I am starting to think I need to install every one in my test car, and drive it around for a few months.. but that's not feasible, so you just do the best you can. This is the second one I have had leak, so adding a touch of sealer to those bolt threads is on the procedure list now.

Stump's picture is also a good example of the use of leak trace dye and an inexpensive blacklight flashlight that you can pick up at the auto parts store. Saves you from chasing your tail if you properly identify the leak source, instead of shotgunning parts/gaskets at it.

Stump puller’s pictures were taken with the dye and black light...makes sense now. I was wondering what was that milky looking stuff was in photos.
