I've never had a problem with a PerTronix unit as well.

Every one I see goes immediatgely into the big barrell outside, and they never have any more problems. One day, my buddy's going to come and pick up the six barrels of them, and melt them all down into one giant Ignitor, then, we're gonna figure ouot what to do with the 1,300+ I have exorcized from people's dists over the l;ast ten or so years.

Now, just for clarity, I do two distinctly different conversions to points dists:

Small body HEI, with MSD 8466-1 magnetic pickup, HEI module and a good coil, 12 volts to make a complete ignition, called a "small-body HEI.

MSD trigger only conversion, same as above, but no HEI module, does plug directly into any 6 or 7 series MSD box magnetic trigger wire set, just like an MSD billit dist does. Also, plugs directly into any Crane digital box as well. This conversion requires the correct aftermarket spark box (MSD or Crane) and coil to make a complete ignition system.

Only reason I mention all of this is, you don't need a small-body HEI if you have or run either the MSD or Crane boxes, just an MSD trigger only conversion.

    Just FYI, all.

well talking to my uncle last night and asking why he ditched the ram air he said the hood wouldn't close. The intake is stock, then a one inch adapter plate, then a holley 800 (not a 850 like i thought). Well my dad was telling me about this service that you send off the heads, intake and the exhaust manifolds and they port them all together. Is this worth it rather than buy a new intake? I am definetly losing the headers, to much heat and they are a pain.
