Run a stock intake temporarily and go racing. I have one on my SA motor and it pulls like a freight train to 6k rpm, and still has more in it.
Yup... the only drawback to the stock intake, up to about 550 HP, is the weight. Once you reach that airflow level, then a single plane intake takes over, and TA has a couple of choices there, that hopefully won't cost $500 bucks anytime in the near future. Let Edelbrock choke on their overpriced old designs, and then when they are discontinued, it will open the door to a vendor (ya, I am looking at you Mike) making the intake we need for that segment of the market.. which is a high performance dual plane. Yes I've been collecting plywood and building materials for 2 years now. I have over 250 sheets 1/2 -3/4. Now just waiting for the weather to align .. At the current cost I could almost retire Good luck with the elusive intake search Jeremy. I'll keep an eye out up here for one
I'm 26th in line for a SP1 intake at TA. I might not even get one unless someone backs out. They are only doing X amount of castings.
I know I have at least 2 at the other garage . One is Brand new . I won't be able to get pictures for a couple of weeks
